2 weeks out my group made the call to not attend Roo this year now we are about a week out and I can't decide what to do...I'd love to go but I'm directionally challenged and all I can think about is me getting lost and ending up in a panic alone.
you 100% need to go. festivals alone are the best and you don't have to be alone because you have an instant inforoo crew.
i'm not going this year but somebody please reach out to hygienequeen and swap numbers and make this happen.
agreed so so much. i have had a blast on my solo Prima trip and atill have been able to meet up with Bing and Theo while seeing everything i want to see. have never done a Roo before but im sure it would be a blast
I did Boston Calling alone twice, plus a couple Bonnaroos and some other fests. It's not bad, you get to do what you want when you want. Plus, you can meet up with people. At Roo, you aren't really alone.

come to friday brunch, exchange contact info with a good number of peeps, and just let more directionally gifted folks guide you through the rest of the weekend
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I tend to do festivals alone and rely too much on good peoples help. Go. Make friends with your neighbors and offer beer to help set a tent up. Put a pin on your maps for where your camp is and take off. If you’ve never been, it sounds daunting but way easier to navigate than what you think.
Then listen to Rummy 500 and go to brunch and make friends. They’re just not weekend friends either. I haven’t been to Bonnaroo since 2013 and still count many many of these people as people I love.

I always forget about the ability to pin, but my dad brought this one up to me today as well and it totally calmed me down on my fear of forgetting where I'm camped.
i also have seen people hype up the What 3 Words? app (i believe that’s the name) in the past, in regards to the directional
never got to use it bc of covid but seems it has the map divided into small chunks with each section having a different name that you can share with friends and such to find each other or find a specific spot where your camp is or something

Question: now that I've decided to go I need to get my car camping pass and pick my entry day, looks like its gonna be raining cats and dogs Wednesday and Thursday...do we think it's better I arrive after most of the rains already occurred or come Tuesday and just chill in the rain for 2 days/nights

Do it but I 100% believe you will find your way back. If it hasn’t changed, each area is divided like city roads that are named. As long as you’re paying attention as you walk to Centeroo, you’re gonna be fine.

I’m not sure what forecast is calling for cats and dogs - Weather.com has a 24% chance of rain on Wednesday and only 40% on Thursday, with rainfall totals that day at, like 0.14”.
EDITED TO ADD: Also, according to Forecast Advisor, weather.com is the most accurate forecast for the Manchester area, so that's why I'm citing that one. But also also: I think a week out is too early to put any money on precipitation forecasts. Generally speaking, anything more than 5 days is projection and guesswork.

Dooo it !
My first roo and festival was solo. I’m very socially anxious but going solo I find that other grounds tend to wander up to you and start talking more so than if you were with a few friends. I made more friends the year I went by myself than I did the other 4 years combined lol. It’s a lot easier to navigate nowadays too. Plus do a practice walk to center roo and back early one day to get the lay of the land. I wouldn’t let gong solo deter you.

Totally get that over a week out is a total guess but figure since my entry day is now totally up to me why not try and work around that forecast.

3 years ago when I attended my first Roo I had no idea my next one would be solo, sure wishing I'd paid more attention to locations of things...I know some of us are weary about JamTrack but I'm sure happy about it now more than ever

I've gone to Roo solo five times. It's totally fine. You go where you want to go and see who you want to see. The biggest challenge might be setting up camp by yourself but I guess that varies on your setup and people are usually willing to help.

I'm thinking about going for that souvenir tent, don't have to mess with sent up basically and will still come out cheaper than what my original plan was (piggy backing off a friend to Imagine who had VIP and early entry)

I'm extremely happy to be at Primavera and in Barcelona solo. I just do whatever the hell I want, get up as early or late as I want, eat whatever I want, see whatever shows I want. Obviously I would like my friends to be here to experience this with me but just having free reign is really fun. And of course you have people from Inforoo to meet up with at shows, as well as people you meet, so it's not really lonely.
I did Roo 2015 solo and it was the same deal. It's pretty easy to make a friend like in the pit line or wherever. They like at least one band you do, so you can probably relate a little bit. I met this guy in the deadmau5 pit line and hung out with all his people for the rest of the weekend pretty much.

Thank goodness for inforoo I know I would not feel nearly as confident going alone with out you guys

I will be solo and arriving Wednesday morning if you need anything. I have no problem helping you set up camp and finding some reference points to get back to camp.

You are a doll, I actually ended up getting a Souvenir Tent to make things easier on myself...I would offer to help you actually but probably won't be rolling into town until Wednesday afternoon
I will also be there solo. Sucks that the solo too camping passes sold out.
There probably isn't an easy way to make it work but I wish SoloRoo and SoberRoo couldn't sell out and would just be available to whoever needs/wants it
