Got back from Aphex @ Field Day London a couple of weeks ago. It was phenomenal and am already wanting more. Pretty good chance that he'll be making it stateside next year. I'm going to dream and hope that III Points finally gets him for next year and not Coachella again.

Absolutely. Grateful that 95% of everyone I wanted to see is on one day and that one day does not include Iggy Pop. Find me losing my mind to Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin. Rly the perfect snack before the main even that is Hulaween. See y'all in the parking lots of Wynwood.

what’s the crowd density like at this festival for a headline act? ie if one wanted to get fairly close to the stage for say Fred again.. how early would one go to the stage pre set time?
after shows look sweet also. really like the daphni avery orbison one on saturday but might be too beat to make it after the fest. feel like most of the people i want to see are on saturday.

Friday in particular is going to be busy as ever... And I imagine the Fred crowd will be one of the largest III Points has seen. Some of the larger, more popular acts in the past couple of years have seen chaotic crowd spaces. I would say as soon as the act prior to Fred goes off ppl will start pushing to the front hard, best to beat em.
It's also my understanding that the Mind Melt stage will be flipped around and in the Outer Space spot, which I feel like could bring even more chaos, but guess we finna see. Maybe they've tweaked a few other things to make that work???

what’s the crowd at this festival like? seems like it’s historically indie type music but leaning into a bit of pop edm also. perhaps if someone could quantify an exact % ratio of chill weirdos / chad bros / hipsters etc

50% club people 30% concert people 20% rave/queer scene
I'm excited this year...bought my tix presale bc of how much fun I had last year, and while I wasn't super pumped with the lineup as a non-EDM guy, I've come around a lot and ready for the fun.
I'm most excited for: - Despacio. All hail Despacio. I would pay the ticket just for it only. Despacio Is Happiness. - Fascinating headliners (for wildly different reasons) that I'd never go out of the way to see but glad I have the opportunity to now - Continued evolution of the festival grounds/stages; no festival I've been to has the venue like iii points - Explosions In The Sky, my hometown band. All hail tremolo. - Finally making it to a Julie set, which I will get to this year - I'm now a resident of Wynwood, so door to door is like 7 min walk. Any Inforooers are welcome to casa gerk for a pregame, of course.

see yall soon!
well i’m down w the earlier crowd % breakdown. i’d put myself somewhere between a concert person and rave queer scene.
your post has me excited! what is unique about the venue or most notable?
of the headliners i’ve seen fred again 3x, he’s a ton of fun live especially if the crowd is into it, which i’m assuming they will be. have seen caroline polachek kinda passingly at festivals twice, but this will be my first viewing as a dedicated fan. haven’t seen the other headliners. highly recommend daphni as a non headliner.
haven’t taken in despacio either… had the chance at aint no picnic last yr but got too caught up in festing, missed out. def will take in this time. also have tix to jim murphy’s dj set on thurs night at the jolene room. not sure what to expect there. and no idea who will buck is heh.
