really hurts to not be going. glad to see the Detroit Stage is back!
saturday: andrea ghita or rick wihite b2b andres > Erika or Eris Drew b2b Octo Octa > Audion b2b Ryan Elliot or Sama' Abdulhadi or Stacey Pullen > Seth Troxler > Carl Craig or Richie Hawtin
sunday: (fuckin underground day): uun > lady starlight > adam x > 9x9 > Paula Temple > Blawan or Adam Beyer or James Murphy b2b Carl Craig
monday: Waajeed > Ellen Allien > The Blessed Madonna > DJ Minx > Jeff Mills
Jeff Mills closing the main stage is fucking awesome.
so many conflicts but half the fun of Movement is treating it like a party and just wandering around. long set times and small grounds helps.
Not going but that Saturday looks sick as hell. Hawtin vs DJ Stingray kinda sucks though. At least they both have longer sets so you could split them.
Hawtin was supposed to shut down the underground in 2020 before it got cancelled. I'm a lot less interested in trying to fight the main stage crowd to see him. I'll likely be at DJ Stingray 313, unless I get pulled to Maya Jane Coles.

That Sunday really is a problem. I'm gonna have to ready myself to not see the sun for that entire day. Such a killer UG lineup.
I think my hardest conflict is that Partiboi 69/Sama'/Anfisa cluster on Saturday. Like you said it'll make for some good show hopping day 1.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Apparently they are ditching the underground stage this year for safety concerns? Makes sense, plus the sound was always garbage but I liked the atmosphere.

Underground stage looks to be in full swing from what I see on the socials.
Not a fan of the new set-up at all. Doesn’t have the same vibe. Too bright. Stingray just crushed it, but I do hope it gets better for tomorrow since I’ll be down there all day.

Is not in the same spot it has been?
No they moved it out of that pit area for safety reasons. The old area is a bar and a cool little pop up museum type thing where you can read about Detroit legends. If you keep going past it and turn the corner the new spot it right there. It’s long rather than being deep. The sun peeks through the back of it which kinda kills the immersion that the old spot had.

Huh, I can't picture that in my head. I'll have to find some video or pictures.

I've been getting PMs and videos about Movement and very much regret not going. Last night my friend sent me Baby Weight's set at an after, and there were 20 ppl there (one was Chris Lake). Who didn't get the memo?

A good friend of mine from Knox who has been going to DEMF/Movement for at least 10yrs and feels pretty comfortable with Detroit and the area was involved in an incident last night where a Lyft driver attempted to kidnap and assault her.
She was leaving Motorcity Wine Sat night (midnight) and this driver picked her up after she had been waiting an hour. They were headed Southwest, towards where she was staying, and he took a turn onto a closed street by the train station. He took off his mask, locked the doors, and reached back to grab her. She had the window down (covid n stuff) and was able to reach outside and open the door. She ran half a mile down till she saw some ravers who stayed with her until a friend picked her up. She reported him as soon as she got home and then took the first flight back to Knox. Below is the screen shot from the app. Feel free to spread the info and try to stay together. If you see a woman alone or even a couple of women, keep an eye out please.

I get what you mean after going Sunday with it being lighter down there for day sets. It was pretty much a welcome change from everyone talked to about it though. The sound was great. I don’t care about the lighting rig down there so much but others were saying how much they liked it. I spent most of my day bouncing between stages other than the underground but was down there for a chunk of 999999999’s set before 2manydj’s and I didn’t mind it. 2manydj’s was definitely the set of the day for me though.

This same thing happened to my lil sister-in-law last August in ATL, she had to jump out of the moving car and got some pretty good injuries from it, the cops said they couldn’t do anything about it... *eyeroll*

alrighty my first Movement experience was the best.
top sets (Movement only): 1. Jeff Mills - greatest set I've ever seen. 2.5 Powerful hours. 2. 999999999 - slayed the underground oh my lord. wet with sweat in there 3. DJ Stingray - Diabolical 4. DJ Godfather - REAL DETROIT SHIT. Someone teach me how to jit 5. Eris Drew b2b Octo Octa - House music in the sun by the water was a great start to the long weekend
top sets (afters only): 1. Paranoid London @ Where Are My Keys - whaaaat a vibe. live acid techno baybeeeeee 2. DVS1 @ Anthology - Leland City Club is the coolest venue I've ever been to. Entered just before 4AM Tuesday morning and DVS1 was melting minds in this run-down abandoned hotel 3. Danny Daze @ Where Are My Keys - played a four hour set I stayed for the first three. dude is a beast 4. Fred P @ Texture - the patio was packed for his set @ Marble Bar but we found some room in the front to get down. A few dudes there were doing a slick coordinated dance and teaching people too! Detroit things 5. Jonny From Space @ Where Are My Keys - played a sick set in the smaller Room 3
Detroit is beautiful and amazing and I'll be back for sure. Jeff Mills -> Paranoid London > DVS1 run is the best I've had, and at three different venues/parties to boot. Didn't get to see Moodymann as he got injured in an auto accident on the way to his set and had to cancel. A bit later back at the festival a guy complimented my Moodymann shirt and asked if I listened to his music. Turned out to be Moodymann's younger brother! Assured me eveyone in the accident would be fine and thanked me for listening.
Will probably book a room for next year soon, best fest.

Glad you enjoyed your first movement. If you saw a chubby photographer on stage during 9x9, Stingray, or Eris Drew b2b Octa Octa that was me.
I'm still editing photos but once I get them all done I'll post a link here.
