itrainmonkeysDruid no big deal but is it possible to give me control over the title and/or OP of this thread? pretty sure the answer is no, if so i can just tag phi once a year to update.

I think we figured out a way to do a workaround for that with someone else in the past.
Ummmm..... 3post1jack1 try creating a brand new thread with the same title (or even the title you want to use). Then I think I can move these posts into that thread and you should be able to then update it. Let's give it a try.
I reckon they’re just gonna give us the lineup with the onsale?
a "surprise" drop right when tickets go on sale would be fun.
lots of "lineup?" questions on their insta posts and movement isn't engaging with them at all.
and the movement facebook page, which used to be a pretty good source of fan sourced info, is a bunch of complete fucking idiots these days. don't know what happened over there.

Lol that sounds about par for the course for insta and especially FB.
I was looking forward to 2020 a ton. Though I doubt I’ll get to go this year, a killer lineup could force me to.

yeah missing 2020 was my biggest musical heartbreak of the covid era. was psyched for the festival and the afters.
i'm keeping my expectations in check with regards to 2022. pax doesn't have the backing of a cash heavy balance sheet, and two years of no movement revenue has to hurt. i'm guessing it'll be lots of local names and lots of international friends of the fest type acts, the types of acts that perform at movement every year or every other year. maybe a big hip-hop act or two to grease ticket sales. and i'm fine with that.
would be great if they managed to snag underworld though.
Soooo Underworld or nah? 5 minutes past twelve and nothing about tickets or lineup on their website or Twitter
onsale is tomorrow, feb 2.
easy guess to make but i'm going with "nah" on Underworld. it's a tricky booking to get them to the US in the best of years. if they want to play shows seems like it'd be much easier and more profitable to do some festivals in europe

are drama and dj drama the same person? i don't care if they're not, in my mind they are and dj drama has a set at movement or might be an at-large artist who shouts gangsta grillz adlibs whenever he feels like it all weekend
Adam Beyer and Nina Kraviz (I have such a crush on her) being back just might be enough to sell me on it. I like that they still have some house-y stuff on there too with James Murphy and TBM.

i don't know who DJ Drama is, but i don't think Drama is the same artist
DRAMA is the multicultural collaboration between producer Na'el Shehade's chic Chicago house-infused production style, and vocalist Via Rosa whose soulful delivery is inspired by the improvisational nature of jazz and playful patterns of hip-hop and bossa nova. The duo play to the complementary dynamics of their unlikely pairing by blurring the lines between R&B and dance-pop, heartbreak and bliss. Rosa grew up in a musical household; her parents played in a reggae band and toured as a family, homeschooling Rosa into her early teens and limiting her listening primarily to Sade, oldies, Brazilian and Afrobeat music. She kept poetry journals and by high school started writing songs and making beats. After moving to Chicago in 2010, Rosa connected with THEMPeople, a collective at the center of the city's sprawling hip-hop scene.
Meanwhile, Shehade inherited a strong work ethic from his immigrant parents. Born in Chicago, he fell in love with DJ culture as a kid and took up music production and engineering; his interest eventually led to professional opportunities, including early studio work with Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, and music projects for MTV and Bravo. Since a chance meeting in 2014 lead to the creation of DRAMA, the duo has bootstrapped a subtle rise on their own terms, self-releasing several EPs and mapping multiple tours with Midwestern grit.
In early jam sessions the chemistry was clear; Rosa's soulful delivery interlocked with Shehade's chic Chicago house-infused production style. A lovesick sound emerged over two EPs, Gallows in 2016 and Lies After Love in 2018, and continued on to their debut album Dance Without Me in January 2020.

Also I assume that’s DJ drama? Idrk tho
and i'm assuming they'll do a Drumcode after like they had planned in 2020.

Here’s to hoping! I’m real curious to see who they add/who the afters will be. It’s not gonna take much to push me over the edge honestly.
And clearly that isn’t DJ drama lol. That would’ve been a fun booking though. He’s known for producing a lot of rap mixtapes in the 00’s and early 10’s, he also produced Tyler, The Creators latest album just fyi
yeah i'm impressed. i thought maybe they had one or two non-local names they'd throw out their then announce your standard local acts as well, but they came with some heavy hitters.
honestly after three years (!) of no movement i'd totally attend the Kevin Saunderson & Sons Family Techno BBQ Picnic but i'm glad it hasn't come to that.
