Hi
Do you know that my favorite singer Alanis Morissette will play at Bonnaroo in another year and she’s good. I think she’s originally from Ottawa, Ontario Canada and she now lives in San Francisco, California USA with her husband Souleye and her three kids. When I first heard “You Oughta Know” on the radio back in 1995 when I was twelve years old and it was right before her album “Jagged Little Pill” came out. I’ve been her number one fan since the nineties when I was a teenager. If she headlines Bonnaroo, we’ll go see her perform on the What stage.
My wife's fav, also, along with Prince. We have seen Alanis live a couple of times in the last few years. She's a fun show.
Her songs were edgier on a personal level than a lot of other music of the time. But, she really should have a place at the table of great acts from the 90's. I wonder if we were more accepting of women rockers at the time, or more open to women calling out dudes in their songs (we love it when Taylor does it now), if Alanis would have greater standing. Her use of different modes than traditional rockers certainly makes her music easily identifiable.
As a side note, when we get tix to see my wife's favorite acts, we sit really close to the stage. My favs ... less close.
