let’s put a pin in this. I have an idea for how it would work but i wouldn’t be an agent or play.
ill post a general idea real quick
I think it would be like this set up but only North American festivals. Instead of voting for the best ones (because this would give bigs fests way too much power), we would give voters a budget for which fests they can go to and they vote from there. So like you have $1,500 to spend on festival tickets. You can go to Coachella but that’s like $500 right there or you could do some smaller ones.
Each agent would represent a group of acts. So like Alex might represent Radiohead, Rage, Rihanna, etc. while someone else will represent Frank and Beyonce and a ton others.
You would be free to announce your acts and lineup whenever but there would be deadlines. So you can negotiate with an act up until the deadline and if you can’t get them then you have to get idk The Black Keys to headline.

But for real I think a good chunk of us (maybe even all?) went into this wanting to build a fairly realistic lineup with some obvious leeway.
I took it as “you are taking over this festival and you have a generous budget”. I don’t think the question come voting should be “who booked the lineup closest to their selected festival” but maybe something like “who booked the best lineup with their festival identity in mind”.
We aren’t radically changing Shaky or doing anything they haven’t already done. We’re just putting our own twist on the festival while keeping its core identity strong.
I think that’s a fine interpretation that I agree with.
I also think the Outkast booking is a stretch and something unlike shaky knees has done, in terms of size and type of act. The other two headliners I’m interested in seeing what you do with.
you maybe shouldn't have reminded people of how small their prior headliners are hahaha, given the Outkast pick.
while i personally don't care, just know that the REALISM POLICE are out in full force and have a quota to fill.
