Odds are inspector is still alive, but in the case that otter is oracle and Jortles is inspector that shouldn’t change our focus today because Jortles was still whacked by the mafia
Rules say before the end of D1R1. Which is why Oracle Otter could make sense with KPO. I think it's less likely, but still a possibility, which matters (Dan808 ) because it informs us of whether people believe Jortles was inspector, or Otter was mafia.

I didn't miss it. Again, I've been saying it's likely it was Jortles (thus, inspector still alive), but I don't think you can completely rule out Otter as Oracle. Which would be nice to be able to do one way or the other.
I do think our oracles probably could stand to not reveal from time to time, and think it's possible (not likely, not probable) that it happened here.

You're not this obtuse, right? The whole point of figuring out who is Oracle is getting people to say what they think about Jortles as inspector and where the whack points. If Jortles is oracle, that means inspector is still alive. It makes sense for the town to talk about this to see where all players stand on the issue.

This makes me wonder from a strategy standpoint if it's better for an Oracle in that position to reveal, forcing votes to move to the other person in the runoff, or to stay quiet and get a name out of the way. Because revealing would also run the risk of the other person in the runoff being Inspector, which could be rather detrimental since it's the earliest for either of those roles to be revealed.
Anywho, Silver is still coming across weird to me. He keeps reiterating the same points over and over. He also moved onto Otter after Jortles said that Otter was town - now obvs Jortles didn't know this for sure, but we know Jortles is town and therefore we at least have reason to believe he wasn't bullshitting about his inclinations of Otter's townieness. Though given the past few games I don't really put too much stock into thinking the D1 exile is a Townie. We're wrong way too often about it. Regardless, Silver deserves scrutiny.
I have a light town read on Tranter and Rummy, and slight suspicion of Potent. He switched to Tranter with no explanation last round and is now saying it was for no reason and that he thinks Tranter is town. Odd.

I'm not missing your point. You'd whack Jortles if you thought he was inspector, just like any of us would to anyone we thought was inspector. And it wasn't a comment - it was an attempt at a vote. I also disagree with the last sentence - we haven't strictly adhered to deadlines recently, so someone not being aware of when the deadline passed is entirely possible. I'm not even saying it's likely. I'm not saying you're mafia. But of course it can point to you.

If jostles was baiting , why wouldn’t he do so in the duration of d1? You think it was this masterpiece baiting game plan of his to wait til literal end of round, actually beyond it, before posting “nvm just realized otter is town,” then try to switch to me when he couldn’t anymore?
