I appreciate that they actually gave you a straightforward answer, but I would be interested to see what the advantages are. My first thoughts would be traffic flow and possibly a little more supervision of the area since it is in with their more programmed camping areas. In an unrelated note, I just noticed that they axed BFE Classic which is surprising if they expect high ticket sales as people were camped there last year.

It was 50/50 C'Roo and GA camping. It was super weird for me to get there on Tuesday and see a large empty field for a day and change before it got fully packed out with GA people.

gotcha.
well the map is super preliminary, i'd imagine when they release the real map we'll see classic bfe pop back up if ticket sales are strong.

I have to admit, I know a few of us yelled directly at them when they noticed the map change -- I respect them for at least being honest about their planning. I still think it SUUUUUUCKS. But at least I don't have to go "they aren't even thinking about us at aaaallll"

I also like how they said "at least this year", so they're willing to make changes if it's a shit show this year for whatever reason.

I suspect that they'll see a huge decrease in TO and use that to justify making the move permanent or eliminating TO altogether. (Not enough demand.)

They aren't thinking about us at all. They don't care about those of us who just like to camp close and don't mind lugging our shit up there. If they didn't need to have a TO area for people who fly in or whatever and take the bus, they'd ax it. The result would be us paying for Groop, paying for VIP, or buying more food and beer in Centeroo because we can't quickly walk back to camp - all wins for them.
I wouldn't be surprised if next year they finally kill off TO and replace it with a drop-off/walk-in/bus area that requires a separate camping pass.

I mostly agree with you on them personally caring or not; I'm talking about logistics. The way things are that LN runs the actual farm and AC and C2 are booking acts as separate entities matters. I do believe this is a cash grab situation but from someone who has done TO, GA, and Groop over a 14 year period; I can't be surprised by it. But I also know years where they just ignored us completely when we asked about things -- and they are at least responding (disingenuous or not; the mess of the first 4hrs of entry last year). The situation was bad enough on Wednesday that, No one who volunteered knew what was happening, roads that were always used got locked off and then re opened, and I got into an entanglement with a plain clothes cop because he was upset about having to deal with any type of traffic situation. So... take what you can get, the bus ticket is already more expensive then groop.

I get it, it was a messier mess than usual last year (not that it isn't often a mess already from my perspective), and they're trying to fix that, which is great. My point is mainly that they have no real reason to care what we think or want in regards to TO, because it doesn't make them money, and those of us who want it but don't need it are a drop in the bucket.
As for suggesting we take what we can get and just be happy with it, I'm going to disagree a little here. When I'm spending hundreds or thousands of dollars for something, and the seller degrades the product and my enjoyment of it, while at the same time increasing prices, I'm going to speak up about it, and at some point I'm going to take my business elsewhere (like I did in 2017 and 2018). Loyalty to Bonnaroo among the most loyal fans and community promoters (Inforoo) has waned in recent years for a variety of reasons. Again, we're a drop in the bucket, but we need to be squeaky wheels or they'll be even less likely to give us a product we want. They have been responsive in some ways and to some desires (booking, bathrooms, cashless options, pre-$et tent$, and now maybe traffic & entry) and some of us are going to to continue to demand what we want and tell them what they're forgetting.

I don't know man.. you are talking to one of the first people to see the map and contact them. I'm not taking what I'm getting, I'm responding to what's happening. Take it or leave it.
Don't take pot shots at me for having a thought. I'm not down for this kind of criticism - be fucking critical of Live Nation. go ahead. But I spent stupid time trying to email folks, contact around and see if this map was the reality of the situation. And received a response unlike other years. Don't tell me I'm one of the people just ducking their head for Bonnaroo. That is completely ignoring my MANY fucking years here.

Whoa dude, no one is taking pot shots at anyone, relax, I'm just sharing my opinion. My opinion really has nothing to do with you, so I'm sorry if you took it that way.

Just understand as someone living life as the squeaky wheel, I'm going to get offended when I try to make a measured comment and someone writes an entire paragraph on it.
