U2 got their slot bumped to 2 hours on the day of the show, and I didn't understand why they wouldn't have just done this with the initial schedule drop. I have to imagine theres at least one person out there who was on the fence about going just for U2 and was turned off by the 90 minute set length and went to a different show on the tour, but would have done Roo had they seen a 2 hour set on the schedule instead.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Didn't they still end up playing 1:30-1:45 despite the schedule change? I didn't understand any of it.
U2 did have their set extended to 2 hours the day of. I didn't know this so when they ended around 10:50 I was like damn they played 20 minutes over their set time.
Little Things That Give You Away got cut and it's one of their best post-2001 songs and that sucks. It does suck that they didn't do their whole show, for sure.
1.20 is an okay set time for The Weeknd and I’m the biggest Weeknd fan on the board
As the biggest RHCP fan, how do you feel about 1:40?
Don't ask me why but I've looked up full RHCP recent shows on YouTube and they're all about an an hour 40. Comparing setlists, they performed about the same amount of songs at Bonnaroo as they did on their regular tour.

I don't even care what anyone says I was excited to see them at Boston Calling with Frusciante (would've been only the second time for me, I think). I find their output since he left boring and pretty much unlistenable, but I still love BSSM (and One Hot Minute) and have soft spots for Californication and Stadium Arcadium. It's a shame they've shaved the setlists down to 1:40 and have gotten pretty predictable, but that would've been exciting to me. I also liked the 2017 RHCP set better than 2012, but it purely had to do with where I was standing and the fact that nothing was going to live up to Radiohead 2012.
IMO, if you can't fill a two hour slot you have no business headlining a 70K music festival.
While there are some acts I'd 100% like to see headline just because I like them, in general I agree with this. Headlining sets can lack an oomph factor when they're shorter.

If we have headliners like Eminem - The Killers - Muse I think 90 minute sets are doing us a favor.
Could they really add Gaga and MMJ to the 2020 headliners?
Keeping Oysterhead too. Thats a killer year
I feel like the only way for this to happen (and keep Tool, Tame, & Lizzo) is if Thursday is expanded to a full day. On one hand, the next Roo will be happening after an unprecedented gap year and it will be the 20th anniversary. Seems like a good time to expand Thursday! But on the other hand, idk anything about the logistics of how much more expensive that would be and if it would be possible after not having that 2020 revenue.

I know this is way stacked but I was just practicing in photoshop and thought it would be fun to give into these MMJ and Lady Gaga rumors. Also switched some other stuff around a bit.

Small suggestion, since you are practicing your design technics, InDesign is created for text layout and is way easier than Photoshop text. Idk if you have access to it.

There’s no way they expand Thursday to a full day. That would mean almost everyone comin’ in on Wednesday (which has become more of a trend in the last six or seven years I feel), but then there’d be a decent amount of folks tryin’ to arrive in Manchester on Tuesday. And with the new parkin’/campin’ layout they were gonna try and roll out I don’t think they want even more traffic than normal earlier than usual.

If we get Disclosure, Skrillex, and Flume as our EDM Headliners I will Poop my pants.

I don't care what anybody says, Muse was great. I do remember excitedly posting right after their set and people here agreeing that they brought it. I was annoyed that that was when Roo was doing the super short headlining sets. Muse played 1h20 and even that was 5 minutes over, when they typically play 1h45-2h.

I disagree, they were planning on the Wednesday pre-party thing before Covid, which would have made that happen to some degree anyways. Plus like you said, most people arrive on Wednesday now anyways. I'm not saying I definitely think it would happen but I don't think it's outside the realm of possibilites.
