Is this in response to my post? I'm not saying I care that Lizzo is headlining, I'm just stating that I think Tame could be justified as having higher billing. I don't see why not.
But they're not. You're arguing against what actually happened.
What? I know what happened, I'm not arguing against it. Shuck just said Meg could be justified as being a headliner over Lizzo (which didn't happen), so I said I think Tame could have too (which didn't happen). I just threw another name onto the list.
I think Tame should be on that list. Has more monthly listeners on Spotify, The Less I Know the Better has 811M streams, and has 8 songs with over 100M streams. Plus the bigger discography and built reputation.
Lizzo has 3 albums and, at the risk of being a broken record on this topic, toured hard and had the same kind of reputation you’re talking about, especially, as inconsequential as it may seem, in the Twin Cities!
also another friendly reminder that Lizzo That Tent 2016 Thursday was lit af

You are right about that. But only one other album is even available to stream, and as far as I'm aware those albums weren't very popular. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

They weren’t as critically acclaimed as, say, Innerspeaker or Lonerism were and they definitely didn’t dent the charts, but at the time it was at least popular enough for a few of those songs to get TV placements and what not. I still maintain my crackpot theory that they were taken off streaming as part of a push for her to win a best new artist Grammy, but Lizzobangers is back on Spotify and Big GRRL Small World isn’t so now I have no idea why that happened.

Big Grrl Small World was at least notable enough for a positive Pitchfork review (which also mentions some of her accomplishments by that point including being featured on a Prince track)

It's extremely Inforoo to keep arguing whether or not Lizzo is a headliner when Bonnaroo has literally listed her as a headliner on two separate posters now.

Pfft. What do they know?
they know what bonnaroovians really want is skrillex LN which is why they are correcting this lizzo error.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 5/14 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Forest Hills 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount

To be fair Skrillex is probably at the most relevant point he’s been at in a long time due to the recent rise in hyperpop which is all pretty Skrillex inspired
So it's looking like Bonnaroo may be Tame's first performance back. Their tour is supposed to start late July, but that came into question when Mark Ronson asked Kevin Parker on a recent podcast about when their tour dates are happening, and Kevin responded, "Well we're playing Bonnaroo in September," like he was not planning on doing shows in a little over a month. Then today Tame posted this strange video. At the end, he holds up a vial and then it says "Phase 1 Clinical Trials 09/2021.
Someone posted a picture of the vial and at the top it says 09042021, the date Tame is headlining.
There's also a website associated with it. aionwell.com
Interesting! Tame premiering a new show at Bonnaroo would drive my excitement up a lot. I’m pretty sure the techs that set up their instruments on stage have been wearing lab coats for years, I wonder if there’s some connection there.

Yeah a whole new stage setup would be really exciting. I've just assumed they would still be using the big ring. Which I'd still be fine with since I didn't see it in person, but it's just less exciting since it was used some on the tail end of the Currents touring.
It is kind of bizarre that Lizzo is getting a headliner spot off the success of literally one single, that's now pushing three years old...
She's a great performer but she hasn't dropped a feature, or well dropped anything at all since before Covid. Megan and Lana are much hotter right now and would make better choices for the headliner spot Lizzo has been given.
