Has anyone considered how big Marc has got? He might be LN Which and MMJ plays the set they always play at sunset etc. this place will burn to the ground but it’s a possibility with his recent placements

Yeah but has Roo considered this as well? He may have really blown up after being booked for a lesser timeslot.

They have bumped people up the schedule in the past based on growth in popularity. Mumford & Sons were super low on the 2010 lineup when it was first announced. But by the time June rolled around they were gaining steam and one of the bigger acts on the farm. If I remember correctly they played That Tent and people were spilling out. The guys that book Roo I think said it on The What Podcast that they were originally supposed to go on at noon but had to bump them up twice because they got so big.
Adrian Belew (w/ Turkuaz) Jim James (MMJ) Kevin Parker (Tame Impala more for his sound than his playing) Dave Brandwein (Turkuaz) Bill Frisell Mark Brownstein (TDB) Jon Gutwillig (TDB) Aron Magner (TDB) Les Claypool (Primus) Dave Grohl (FF)

This time they are. Those are all elite. Mdou Moctar is up there and Batiste too, but Frisell, Gutwillig and Belew are on a different level. There are some great female singers on this year's card and even some talented brass musicians. Feel free to disagree, but I think I'm pretty close on that list.

Yikes
Yikes isn’t a counterpoint Ozzy. I’m not talking about performers. I said musicians

It's not my job to fix white underlying racism/white supremacy as well as their fragility when it comes to getting called out. But despite the need for Roo to do a better job of booking diversity across the lineup, picking 10 white men out of 120+ plus acts to be "the best musicians" and likewise implying those left out lack the musicianship and are "performers" not "musicians" speaks for itself.

WTF? Underlying racism/white supremacy? Fragility? Jesus man. No one implied anything except you. I just gave a list of who I think are the 10 most talented musicians. The fact that they white guys is completely irrelevant and not a statement. Suggesting you put pen to paper if you thought I was wrong rather than hitting a drive-by isn't fragility. Come on man. I didn't say anything about performers in that post, it was the second. I think there are very talented performers who may not be the greatest musicians. Tyler could fall in that category as a showman. But are you going to put him in the same musician category as jazz great Bill Frisell or Adrian Belew? I don't think anyone would agree with that. They might like him better, and that's perfectly fine. But it wasn't the point. If you think there are 10 better musicians or maybe even agree with some I have, you're certainly welcome to put that list out. You may also note that I didn't include any singers. I personally believe that the voice is an instrument. I just didn't go there.

Well, there's a lot in this, happy to respond in a dm or the politics thread but I'll stop putting it here.

Listing Kevin Parker, Dave Grohl, and Jim James when any member of Nubya Garcia or Makaya McCraven’s band could blow them out of the water without a second thought...
Lizzo's a classically trained musician and probably has more chops than her straightforward pop music suggests.
Yeah. She whipped out her "wanna see my big dick?" flute at Voodoo back in 2018. She was great. It was only a pieces part of the show, so I don't have enough to go on. But the bars she played were beautiful.
