First, I would like to say that although I'm a proponent of capitalism, I do believe it has major problems, especially the inequality between rich and poor; however, I have a question about Hampton Institute beliefs so please help me out here: say capitalism in US gets dismantled, and is replaced by Hampton Institute beliefs, who's the boss?
I ask this question because throughout history, there's always been a boss. If America becomes a society that Hampton Institute desires, who is leading the way to ensure shit gets done? It's not going to go back to being an agrarian society or some early/middle age society where everything was up for trade because that will not work in today's tech-driven/city-dwelling society. Just would like to understand the Hampton Institute alternative here. Thanks in advance for the help.
Merely a question on how the hampton institute society would work.
Agree on 21st century, but still, history shows that there's always a "boss," and if there isn't one, a megalomaniac becomes one and society overall sucks.
worker's council...so they would be the bosses? How would that happen? Is it an electorate? TIA
No, Joe Biden is not the boss of capitalism. That's kind of the beauty of it, there are many different bosses. The ugly part of it is that they're all driven by the same thing, money.

I mean idk about Hampton Institute but for any radical change like that I don't think the US should even exist. This country would need a nice divorce first.

not to go too deep into this nonsense, but I don't think breaking up into a euro level amount of states is any better really, for better or worse the US is the US and all parts are necessary
To me, it's important because America is so divided, and I agree, breaking it up into EU states or red/blue states is not the answer. Personally, I would argue that big tech (social media as well as the eradication of a lot of jobs) is primarily the main reason why America is the way it is today as well as laws amended/added over time to go along with a heavily-involved Fed. I'm pro-crypto, pro individual rights, and limited government which brings back Austrian economics as much as possible. Maybe two out of three ain't bad. Agree to disagree with anyone who disagrees.

IMO letting a group of states split off into a new country doesn’t seem completely far fetched and unreasonable anymore. Granted, I don’t really find it likely. The state level moves would be interesting. Greater Idaho, where the rural conservative Oregon counties want to join Idaho, is a good example. The rural conservatives don’t want to be governed by the liberals in Salem and Portland, yet they don’t realize, their rural counties are a tax burden to the urban populations, i.e. the rural people get more from the government than they pay in. IMO, the democrats should embrace these movements; let the conservatives leave for redder states, literally.

I haven't spent much time out there, but almost everything east of the Cascades could/should be a different state. Bend, Redmond, and Sisters could probably stay with Oregon - the rest could go to Idaho.
