Goddamnit with the Dear Prudence come back. In My Life is a top 5 Beatles song.
Neither of these are top 5 Beatles songs.
I get a massive nostalgia rush within 10 seconds of In My Life playing. Like no other song. I did a Beatles bracket a year or so ago with friends and it actually won lol.
My ex-wife and I had our first dance at our wedding to "In My Life." I'm far enough removed from that relationship to not really give a shit anymore, so I can go back to saying that it's a good song and for sure better than "Dear Prudence."

I'd be interested in seeing people's lists of top 30 or so Beatles songs. We could probably do an Inforoo's favorite Beatles songs list the way Cokes ran the favorite albums thread. Or, we could totally do this tournament again with different seedings. Either themes - Paul songs, John songs, True Collabs, Other (including George), or seedings based on everyone's submitted lists. The possibilities are endless!

I think after this, everyone’s just gonna come to my house and listen to a bunch of my Beatles records.

Upsets were right about in line with the previous round.
7 of 16 matchups went to lower seeds. 3 of them won a tie to advance. 2 of the 3 true Cinderella teams advanced, but they look likely to be eliminated this round, as they both are matched up against #1 seeds. The next 4 lowest remaining seeds (ranging from #10-#14) are all matched up against each other, guaranteeing that we will see at least two double digit seeds advance to the Elite Eight.
So far the tournament is still at half chalk, with 8 of the remaining 16 songs being a #4 seed or higher. This number is guaranteed to be no higher than 5 of 8 for the Elite Eight; all remaining 2 seeds except Come Together were eliminated in the last round.

With a quarter of the matchups tied, I feel like it would have made more sense to announce that an appeal for another person to vote.
Or for the person who actually started this to use the same criteria as before to determine which ones advanced, at the very least.
As much as I love Michelle and Don’t Let Me Down, precedent should hold. We should either tag people who previously voted and didn’t this round or do highest seed.

One Dear Prudence voter should just sink a couple drinks and play In My Life while thinking about childhood vacations to their grandparents house that have since passed.
