Caribou had already been selected. It has been submitted that Daphni is not an act but an alias of Caribou producing no different music than Caribou. Additionally, it has been submitted that Daphni does not perform live. Is Daphni an act and is it distinct from Caribou?

No, and no. 

Daphni performs billed as Daphni, and it's a DJ set. What he was saying is that Daphni (Live) doesn't exist as a live band in the same way that Bonobo has DJ and Live sets.

Notice it doesn't have (Live) or even DJ set next to it, I'm pretty sure that's all Dan meant by that tweet.

also fwiw daphni has been taken in every draft we've done and no one's questioned it's legitimacy as a live act.

I'm just stating the objection that was raised by Jim the Luck DЯagon. Not saying that what he submitted was accurate.

If we want the basis to be a substantial difference between the two acts, this is actually a great example of that. Caribou has multiple people playing live instruments during a show. Daphni is just the one guy DJing. Sure, Dan is the center of both, but it's a different experience.
