Humans have a long history of making the mundane sacred. If you make exceptions for hippie-dippy spiritual nonsense where does it end? Can I claim I hold fire hydrants sacred and therefore they can't be drafted?
If you want to hold a fire hydrant sacred, I say go for it. But a dog is man’s best friend. He is loyal and will love you until the day you die. You can’t say that about most people.
