I’ll give you my honest and no doubt unpopular opinion on it. The show was pretty great, and I watched the whole thing start to finish, enjoying it. The knocks were that so much of the music was props. She had a marching band that almost exclusively air played, and they were there for many many songs. Same with a violin ensemble. Also the majority (or at least plenty) of the show was lip synched. I said last night that was disappointing to me, which was not being a dick, it’s what I thought was a fair criticism. Had it been something lesser than Beyoncé, I probably wouldn’t have watched it all. Had they performed more of the show, there was probably a good chance I would have gotten tickets for the Jay-Z & Beyoncé tour later this year. But I’m not sure now.
That’s unusual. Of course when you invest more in theatrics, you sometimes have to sacrifice musicianship but that’s too far. I’m going to the OTRII tour and I think the theatrics mixed with Jay-Z’s great vocal delivery will even it out. Thanks for the summary.
No problem man. I wanted to be blown away, and I would have been. Quirky as it was, I loved the David Byrne show which I won’t be missing at Jazz Fest though that day has been up in the air for me.
My 4YO is currently telling us these she was supposed to be on stage dancing but she was wearing the same outfit as Beyonce so she wasn't allowed to because nobody is allowed to wear the same outfit as "the leader." (Bey)

I feel like this should be required watching for anyone with little girls. So inspiring.

How'd you explain surfborting the bench, that shit was sexy.

The Bonnaroo subreddit hates her too. Pop music kills “the vibes” .
I didn’t see any of this. Just Roo elitists bashing Coach for being “soulless”, which is also annoying, but nothing bad about Bey.
I meant hate her in a general sense, not specifically her Coachella show. Whenever someone brings up the idea of her headlining roo, half of the subreddit loses their minds.

I just told my wife if she plays roo we have to go back. We had not planned on ever going back.
but when the show is this long, it just kind of wears thing quickly imo.
Definitely disagree. Also I think she's singing most of the time. She's just so good that you think she must be lip synching.
It showed in several spots toward the later part of the show where there was no difference in sound when she moved the mike farther away and a few spots where she stopped singing to do a dance move but the vocals didn’t seem to change from her stopping singing/syncing or whatever. I don’t want to come off as a hater, so that’s pretty much my last comment on it.

The thing about marching bands is they’re cool when they have the room to walk around and do cool movements but in this set up, I think they take up way too much space and don’t leave any room for better production. Some better visuals would be worth it. Kind of disappointed by this.
I don't think the hate is directed at her. Most people over there seem to be pissed at the people who camped at main all day and created What they thought were dead crowds for the other acts.
Seeing people in the first few rows that were sitting and on their phones during Chromeo was disheartening but whatever.
Her fans have done this before at other fests, ask anyone that was at MIA when Phoenix pre-headlined for her. It was an awful vibe and you could tell the band noticed.
Apparently, this is what lead Pendulum to break up after their Glastonbury performance before Bey. The crowd just stood there.

Well yea, I don't know anyone that sing and dance like that the same time

This is the most irresponsible act of parenting I've ever seen. You need to have Ken Sumar sit her down and explain that it's all fake.

Okay but I'm currently trying to explain that just because Beyonce goes through a dozen costume changes she does not need to. We simply do not have the laundry facilities to handle that load.
