Maybe I'm misremembering but wasn't there a rumor that the main reason Aphex was a D4N exclusive was that they were they only ones willing to pay him 1 million dollars? If that was the case I wonder if GV caved or if Aphex is taking less money.

Dont know about the number but that was definitely the case. D4N paid him a ton and nobody else stateside was really willing to match it. I assume since he has new stuff on the way and actually needs to promote, that hes coming down on that.

Possibly. But I know they tried that two years ago to no avail; he chose Fuji Rock in Japan over FYF/Pano.
Is there any reason Kanye is getting mocked so much besides just hope?
Huh? Maybe b/c he just dropped a good solo album, a great collab album, and since he last played in 2011 he also dropped Yeezus and TLOP
So it is just people hoping, great thanks for the answer. Also if he didn't play after the last two albums he released that seems to make him less likely in my mind not more likely.

So lets break down this comment
Everyone is doing a MOCK, so these are semi guesses based off of some type of reasoning. JT has been apparently confirmed, and possibly Gambino(but who knows, last year some had Chainsmokers as confirmed). How else would people even put people on a mock?
Kanye couldn't come back just after Yeezus(2 years and an album isn't long enough and doesn't warrant a return). Probably not even after TLOP, and then especially not after he got sick and cancelled the tour.
You don't see the same headlining rapper come back every few years, they've never even come back yet. After all these albums, and a potential tour, it makes a lot of sense.

I am going to be very surprised if any festival books Kanye again any time soon. Fests make the majority of their money from sponsorships.. I don't think too many sponsors want to be associated with "slavery was a choice." But maybe I am wrong, we'll see.

I keep telling myself Metallica is the last headliner. Its keeping me from cancelling my hotel reservation.
If Gambino somehow, someway, got replaced by Kanye id let off a confetti popper in the middle of my office during lineup drop.
Don't cancel your hotel until post-line up drop. I know it's said a million times but headliners at Coachella sell the tickets, other acts during the headliners is sometimes when the special stuff happens. If you would have cancelled last year thinking you didn't want to see The Weeknd, you'd be kicking yourself when Soulwax > Jamiroquai was confirmed.
That being said, I'm not holding out a ton of hope for the third headliner.

Travis Scott headlining Gball was a big downer for me but thank god they countered him with the Gaslight show which was my favorite fest set of the weekend. If he makes his way to Coachella as a headliner too I'll be super disappointed. I have zero issue with Gambino and JT headlining this year as long as the subs are improvements on last year and the undercard stacks up to it's usual standard. I've never seen either and wouldn't see them at their own shows. Deep down I'm hoping for Metallica as that 3rd headliner but I'm preparing for someone way more boring, even if I do like them (Florence for example).
