The kids didn't give a shit about Soulwax until last weekend (well a few of them at least). I don't really get this argument. This festival can/does cater to multiple bases and get away with it.
This. Why do we have this conversation every year? Coachella is gonna give us the lineup THEY want to give us, and we're gonna like it god damnit.
Random but fwiw, spoke with one of the GV festival architects @ the fest and he said they don't want to increase ticket price or capacity next year - biggest limitation right now is parking
I'll believe they don't raise price when I see it. My guess is $449 next year (this year was $429) but we will see.
Perhaps there was some one-time purchases that ate into their margin a bit at $429 that go away next year so they remain as profitable at $429 (despite the fest costing more to put on every year).
Believe the capacity thing though, I'm not sure what else they can do to increase capacity at this point.
Yes, it's next to the Cathedral City Staybridge Suites stop on the shuttle, but they jacked up the price since I posted that, unfortunately.
I think I got the last studio one for that rate. 708 for Thursday through Monday. Never done anything but camped there but I’m looking forward to a bed and air conditioning. This was the first year I felt like death from dancing. Saturday and Sunday were rough.
