A girl I work with is going to Roo for her first time this year. She's about twenty (pretty sure she's not drinking age). It doesn't seem like she knows the lineup very well. She's mostly excited for Eminem and a little bit for Future, from what I can gather. I don't think she knows who Bon Iver is.
Very happy for her, overall.
Tbh I went to my first Bonnaroo for the vibez. I didn't do any research. I was mostly just excited for the hip hop on the lineup (Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Rocky, Action Bronson, Death Grips ect.)
Go for the vibez, stay for the donuts and pizza and soon enough you can see yourself hate Bonnaroo's new demographic.

Last year I saw a huge shift in the demographic. But everyone was really nice. I had zero problems with anyone. It's the lineups I take more issue with.

It seemed to attract a lot of pick pocketters.
Yeah that's true, fortunately I didn't have to deal with that.

Don't know anything about that but I can say that for the first time in years I never heard this:

While I am the target demographic for current lineups I'm still new to 85% of these names. Finding new music is fun for me. One of the reasons I'll keep going back to Roo.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Wow. Somebody at least had to scream "they took our jobs" right?
If not it is us who have failed. We must pass our most annoying and tired traditions down to the young ones.
They sing Biz Markie and Journey now. It's awful.
Biz Markie has been happening since 2012 at least.
Singing Journey is so played out, it was fun like 10 years ago but that song has run its course 2 or 3 times now. I know that's broken out in the past but it should stop.

Pretty sure they were doing Biz in 2010. I enjoy it. I'm sure this year will be the year of Mr brightside
I know it’s not 2012 anymore, but found this interesting that Muse and The Killers are 1 and 3 for picks of live acts. The list makes me happy to realize that I’ll get to see in some aspect 1,2,3 and 8 on that list between going to both Shaky and Roo. Shaky being getting to see Julian but in The Voidz, and just Jack solo and not with Meg (which I hear is better without her anyways)

The only bummer with Muse headining Roo is that they been on so many festivals in the last couple of years.......but theres no denying that they put on an epic live show. Even if they play the exact same set as when I saw them last summer I'll still have a blast. As for the Killers, I haven't seen them live since 2007 but I remember having a lot of fun at that show. I hear they've only gotten better.

Their stage design on this tour is really cool, but they are only operating as 2/4ths of the OG band now. I've seen them twice before and am seeing them next Sunday so I'll see how it stacks up.

The people who voted on that list thought that Muse and the Killers were better than Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, the Cure, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, Blur, the Clash, Rage Against the Machine and Queen.

What a time to be alive - where 2 of the 3 greatest live bands ever are playing virtually every 2nd tier festival in the United States this summer. It's an embarrassment of riches.

I didn’t look at the article until this comment. I figured it was a list of current(as of 2012) acts. This is an all time list? Get the hell out of here.

Ya Julian is rad if you’re into guys that are pompous, boring, late, don’t say anything to the crowd, think sunglasses are an outfit, barely move... Ya I get it.
My hope is that all the folks whining and bitching about the lineup do as they say they will and stay home... I don’t want to dance, hug, and high five you snobs anyway! Radiate positivity and keep it Funky!!!
