I know, this place can be pretty intimidating for new people. But ultimately I think it's for the better. I don't think Bonnaroo cares about our feedback anymore. I think they care more about pleasing the type of people on r/bonnaroo
r/bonnaroo strikes me as a bunch of people with high self-esteem and a positive outlook on life.

Our relationship died when the soul sucking dementors known as Live Nation bought the festival. I’m ok with that. Our goal now is to be more of a go to source for information on all festivals.

Regardless, the lineup is still way better than last year's generic offering. I think Roo is trying to appeal to too many different types. Apparently metal is one of the groups they don't care about anymore.
Last year, the headliners brought folks in. This year, I suspect the mid-card will have to do it.

I hadn't noticed them way down on the lineup poster, but don't miss The War & Treaty. They are atypical Bonnaroo fare; very soulful duet. May not be the taste for everyone, unless you like a couple who are in love, and can sing their asses off. He won "Military Idol" while still on active duty, so he has that credential. Their band was impressive when we saw them (which was in about a 100-seat venue.
"Final Artist Additions" are coming January 17th. I think it's safe to assume most of the cafe acts are already on the lineup. Hopefully it's not just more of that

Where are you seeing this? It’s pretty early for additions so hopefully they have someone bigger that they couldn’t get in time like MGMT.

Honestly I think I saw it on Facebook but now I can't find it. I have no idea how I would have imagined that. Especially because it was so specific.

I'm sticking with my prediction/hope of MGMT and A$AP Ferg. Throw in some more EDM too just to be safe.

I always say that the real joy of Bonnaroo is discovering new artists and this is the perfect example. THIS is exactly why I'll come back to the farm year after year. Sharing this moment with some of my closest bros while we were fucking out of our minds is just one of so many Bonnaroo memories I know I'll always look back fondly on. Can't wait to see y'all in 2018! #RadiatePositivity

Seriously though, the weird stuff is what got me as a young'n. My first night there we were camped so far away it seemed like a 45 minute walk to Centeroo and some dudes dressed up like Roman soldiers were carrying William Ho on a chariot while he sang a bunch of popular songs horribly into a crappy karaoke system with girls on stilts twirling ribbons and the like. One of the girls fell down and then a bunch of folks ran over to help her and she instructed us exactly how to get her back up then when we did I had my first high five of my 14 years of going or whatever it is now. I had never really experienced anything like that. #radiatepositivity I used to love Such N Such as well. I wish they'd bring some of that back.

Artist additions so soon? If this is true I'm assuming there was some mid tier artist they couldn't announce at the lineup drop due to a Nashville date on a winter tour that they didn't want sales affected for.
Or I can just live in my fantasy world and hope they actually got Arctic Monkeys...
