and if you're not into those shitty electronic, hip-hop, and indie type acts, Firefly doesn't appear to offer much
for a mainstream, multi genre fest it think this offers enough. im not going and typically dont like FF lineups but this aint too bad. not even trying to compare it Coach just pointing out that Coach is just also pretty bad unless youre a huge music snob.
Not to make a huge point of this but it’s kinda funny that some people are criticizing Coachella for being too mainstream/pop and others are saying it only appeals to music snobs.
In on topic commentary, at first glance the hip hop on this lineup is sneaky good.

anyone ever seen Lil Wayne live? his newest mixtape surprisingly isn't half bad. was a huge fan of him back in the day, could be fun barring conflicts.
It's as if Red Frog is allergic to the idea of booking artists that haven't played previously. I mean, how many times does this festival need to book The Killers, Foster the People and Cold War Kids. Why any festival is willing to drop so much money on acts like Lil Wayne and Cold War Kids in 2018 is beyond me.
And The Killers play DC and Philly in the next few weeks. Brandon Flowers must be making a fucking killing this year fronting a replacement players version of The Killers...wonder if the guys sitting out these shows get any money for letting him and Ronnie tour using the name?

Only his roo set in 2011 (?)...I only really remember the sound being off pretty badly (prob roos fault) and its when he was going through that "rock" phase so the setlist was slightly bizarre...his hype man is obnoxious.

I saw him last year with 2 chainz. Played almost solely old hits with one or two new songs. Dream come true for middle school me.

How many fucking times can they book The Killers, Foster The People, Portugal. The Man and Cold War Kids? I mean, I really like all 4 of these bands, but come onnnn maaannn. It's so fucking tired.

They likely aren't making anything other than some publishing royalties

who might i be missing on here hip hop wise? i dont see much
I imagine this has to be some big contract deal put in place with Eminem and Killers right? They're at almost every single festival. Like if you're Firefly, you snagged Arctic Monkeys and Kendrick. That's an awesome start with the way these other lineups have shaken out. And then you blow a chunk of the rest of your budget on Eminem and The Killers and water it down like the rest of these subpar lineups. I don't get it.

some people have bad experiences, I thought he was great for what I heard and was expecting. but it was him and 2chainz and they were swapping back and forth, played a couple of their stuff together. he wasn't trashed, there wasn't a back track, he was energetic. i left during some of the mid 2010s not so great wayne songs to catch some of modest mouse and they were significantly worse. it was my second time seeing them and they were completely disinterested and they fucked up one song twice so they just skipped it (the first time was not like that).
also my friend saw him around carter 2 and said he brought out a flamethrower for Fireman, which depending on if you like cool things like flamethrowers that may or may not be for you.

Well Kendrick, obviously, but also Loyle Carner, Westside Gunn. Warren G deserves more love.
I can 100% live with this. Lots of artists I'm excited to see and with conflicts, hanging at camp, and other activities I see probably 1/4 of the lineup anyway.

Wow that drop off in quality is pretty bad. You’d have to wait until 5 everyday for the good acts to start playing. Even though the lineup is better than last year I Don’t think I’m returning this year.
