Follow up question..do you know if that zoom contest always planned? Or was it a last second way to help fill time while they finalized the lineup during the lineup release delay (that is hypothesized to be the Beyonce/Weeknd/BobDylan thing).

Baltimore. It wasn't quite as quick as I implied, but I'd say maybe half an hour. I wasn't upset about it at all, I had no idea where I was even trying to go.

We've done the Zoom contest before. Last year wasn't the first one. I think it was 2014 maybe, but I can't remember. It's planned pretty far in advance, because we have to get people in each of the cities, etc.

Ahhh, my bad. I was looking at a doc i had from then and was looking at the modified date. Yes, we did reveal artists, that's right. There's no plans to do the reveal thing this year that I'm aware of, but there's nothing saying we still can't do the zoom contest later on to give away tickets.

They had the lineup video this year. It included submissions of fans saying who they want at Firefly 2017 (and then announcing that artist for 2017). I remember it for Weezer, Muse, Flume, The Weeknd, and The Naked and the Famous.

They did bring it back. Used to love the old ones, so I made a point last year to watch the video right when it came out before looking at the poster...

Haha yeah the second they said The Weeknd I remember losing hope because that was the mystery headliner we couldn't solve here.
They haven't really promoted the whole "Fan-Curated Festival" thing this year. I mean I know they still do it votes and surveys for silly little design things and activations, but hopefully they're scaling that back in terms of influencing the lineup.
It will be at 11AM, because that's my dentist appointment and Firefly never fails to put out it's lineup right in the middle of something where I can't look at my phone.
