Isn't the radius clause usually 3 months, though? It's not like he couldn't play Philly in March and then Labor Day.

i dont even know if radius clauses are real or strict, i feel like it varies by fest. if JT is skipping Phily then MIA would make more sense than Firefly to me

Radius clauses are always on a case by case basis by artist. A festival might have one for the artist list as a whole, but you'll see venues and festivals not enforce it if it means getting a highly desirable artist.

So basically every meaningful May/June lineup is released now and none have Imagine Dragons on it.
This has to severely reduce the chances we get stuck with them right? Points to them either being overseas, inactive, or still not a safe bet as a US headliner.
Between the Goldenvoice fests and the more Rock based fests (like Firefly was once upon a time) there are a ton of great bands that Firefly could easily book. I understand why everyone is as pessimistic as they are but all of these artists are pretty fair game:
Queens of the Stone Age The National David Byrne HAIM St. Vincent A Perfect Circle Fleet Foxes The War on Drugs Portugal. The Man Japandroids Chvrches Sylvan Esso Cold War Kids The Decemberists Dirty Projectors
If Firefly gets 4 or 5 of those acts then this thing could really round into shape

The National and QOTSA will both be in Europe. Unfortunately, I just don't think Fleet Foxes, David Byrne, or A Perfect Circle fit this crowd.
HAIM, PTM, Japandroids, Cold War Kids, The War on Drugs would be my picks for acts that both fit the crowd and my taste.
I'm effectively just looking for one or two acts to give me the excuse to go and camp with my friends. If Arctic Monkeys are in, I'm in. Also really hoping The Districts get on because they're my #1 favorite live band right now.
I would too but I imagine it's unlikely given that he's headlining XPN Fest in July in the Philadelphia area. I would think The War on Drugs, Sturgill Simpson, and Sylvan Esso are out for the same reason.
