Oh good lord. I saw the Okee lineup and thought it was an "interesting" lineup. I didn't say why, only that I found it interesting. C'mon guys, I mean I literally said ONE word. Yes, I do find that lineup interesting for a couple reasons, but please don't read into it so much. Quite literally, I probably found it interesting for the same reasons that many of you did.
As for our lineup, I'll stick to my ambiguity as usual. It doesn't matter what I say about what I know and don't know. If I say I know our lineup, I literally get angry messages saying what a selfish jerk I am for not blurting it out all over social media OR I get people saying "You don't know shit!" OR I get people saying they don't believe me when I say I know nothing. I can't win. There are some inner workings of the festival that I'm privy to and help to plan out and I'll leave it at that.
Good to be back, looking forward to another festival season!

With MGMT finally putting out an album next year (it seems), I wouldn't be that suprised to see them at the forest next.
Yes, but also ask people (particularly on the big FB group) about their 2013 show and you'll get a LOT of scathing reviews. Not sure if the masses who saw that are so willing and ready to bring them back...
I saw them at Panorama this year and went in knowing that it would be different and actually reallyy enjoyed it. There 20-minute tripped out version of "Kids" was pretty cool. Not sure it's for the Firefly crowd though.

MGMT played against Tyler The Creator at Pano this year...Saw the first half of MGMT, generally enjoyed it, then booked it over to catch the last 25 of Tyler, and immediately regretted not skipping MGMT.
I'm definitely in the minority, but I'm biased cause MGMT is one of my favorite bands. I've seen them 4 times now and loved it each time, including the 2013 Firefly set, and their Pano set from this year.
I'm really hoping they're on the lineup again this year and I think there is a good chance since they played Hangout, FYF, and Pano last year, and I would assume are playing Coachella this year too.

In case anyone missed it, Pearl Jam officially announced a European tour, and is definitely out. Kind of a bummer this felt like the year to me.
Foo Fighters/ Kendrick/ Arcade Fire/ Chainsmokers Halsey/Kaskade/ QOTSA/ Cage The Elephant/ Portugal. The Man St Vincent/ Anderson Paak/ Run The Jewels/ Grouplove (they missed a year they're overdue)
EDIT Replace Foo Fighters with Jack White, and make Kendrick the #1 overall.

Foo Fighters unfortunately also at Pinkpop, so they're out. QOTSA will be around Europe as well. Number of quality rock headliners are slowly dwindling, still plenty of options out there though: Jack White, The Strokes, Green Day, The Who, Coldplay, Arctic Monkey, Arcade Fire, The Cure, Phoenix.
I agree with you that you only need to fill 2 spots on the top line since I bet the 4th HL will be Chainsmokers and then they'll reserve one for Kendrick/Em/Kanye(a guy can dream).

this seems realistic and i would take it in a second

Yeah no sure why this is unrealistic? Firefly may have swung and missed last year but it's still a 90,000 person fest run by Goldenvoice.

go to hangout fest.
Oh I don't want 4 of those 7, but I think they'll be there.

you gotta lower these expectations, a lot.
7 of the 12 have played firefly in the past I think the only stretch here is St. Vincent.

Foo is overseas too I think. The best bets we can hope for would be Arcade Fire and Kendrick. Otherwise you are probably looking at the Chainsmokers and Imagine Dragons of the world here. Doubt we’d share two headliners with Hangout, so we’ll pray for Kendrick as the crossover there. But let’s be honest, that Chainsmokers/Halsey doubledown will be too much for Firefly to pass up. I believe QoTSA is overseas too.

03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
Genuine question, Artic Monkeys were on the 3rd line (#8 on the lineup) last time they were at Firefly. I like Artic Monkeys so it would be fine with me considering a lot of the options but what has propelled them to headliner status when they haven't released anything since?

I'll be honest I was not impressed with their set in 2014. I'd give them another chance, but given they'd be a headliner I'd prefer other options.
