Anyone have any info on this new Ember Music Hall in RVA? HAs booked Ookay, Cupcakke, and Elephante so far. Is it going to be geared towards edm and grab occasional other shows, or is it a little bit of everything?

Dunno much at all except it's around the corner from the new Vinyl Conflict. The shows they have listed so far includes what you mentioned, a Dead cover band, and Jimmy Kenny and The Pirate Beach Band who bills themselves as "THE ULTIMATE BEACH PARTY TRIBUTE TO KENNY CHESNEY, JIMMY BUFFETT AND ZAC BROWN BAND".

It's owned by LX Group, the same people that own Kabana Rooftop & Switch. I expect a mix of everything there and I read it's about 450 cap.

Yes, it did open. I looked for funsies (might fly over for Foos). No dice on Foos. Saw tickets pop up for some other random events.
Is it built into the event listing on their app/website? I looked at all of the listings and they were still sold out, so I wasn’t sure lol
Yes, it's the normal event page. When tickets are available, the page changes to let you try and buy tickets. But, keep in mind that for resale tickets, there is no cart/timer, so you have to race other people to get them - kept dealing with that for The Cure before I finally got my tix.
how’s this even going to work at Monroe Park. There are so many trees and walking paths, not particularly an ideal place for large stationary crowds. Not to mention it’s the second week of VCU students being back in school and they’re just going to take over the space for like a week. That being said, I’ll probably attend just because I like having a multi day festival in RVA. Although for $150 I might pass…

How much time did you spend refreshing and what was your successful strategy? I check several times a day, and have only seen one pair, and got beat on them.

The only listing I saw available today was Tank and the Bangas.

as for food recs nearby that are good for veg stuff: -Busboys & Poets -Ghion Ethiopian -Gypsy Kitchen -Doi Moi -Beau Thai -if wanting something quick and casual, PLNT BRGER is inside Whole Foods right by the 930

we're actually not even staying the night, just doing the show and heading back to my sister's place for the weekend.

Are you veg? If so Rummy basically has it covered. If not I’d toss in The Royal for dinner, and it’s far enough down Florida Ave you should be able to find street parking on a side street.
