damn, beat you by seconds.
Haha word. We will be hitting the Pretty Lights double night of shows with his new band featuring more New Orleanians. Fwiw I saw some video footage from the Chicago shows last weekend, and it was pretty damn good.
Most of Vegas is big name EDM garbage but this is what I've seen so far:
George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic @ Brooklyn Bowl Major Lazer @ XS DJ Snake @ Surrender Vince Neil (Motley Crue) @ Eastside Event Center Maroon 5 - Mandalay BayJust saw it was already on the list
Live for Live Music sent out an email that said Spafford and The Magic Beans were doing a post-Phish NYE run in New York City on the 30th and 31st. This will be at American Beauty @ 251 W. 30th St., NY NY. Spafford headlines one night, Beans the other. I like both of these bands and have seen them both. Apparently this place is "around the corner" from Madison Square Garden. There are a limited number of pre-sales and general on-sale is 10/7 at 12:00EDT.
Billy Joel BB&T Center Sunrise, FL (Fort Lauderdale Suburb)
A few years ago I spent NYE with my Grandma at her nursing home. They did a big party in club house area with a casino set up and I spent a few hours playing craps for tickets with some old dude everyone just called the Admiral. Then at 9:30 they had a raffle, then at 10pm they did a ball drop, then everyone went to bed (and I went out drinking in time for midnight).
I imagine a NYE Billy Joel show in Sunrise Fl will be sorta like that.

I thought Flume's new set, while visually nice, was pretty weak at ACL. I don't really like Danny Brown, but I've only seen him once. Manic Focus is great. A.PAAK is decent. And I wouldn't mind seeing Gucci Mane for the shitshow possibilities. /bitch I might be

Rebirth Brass Band is playing NYE at Howlin' Wolf New Orleans. Party includes "premium bar" but it's a 2 drink maximum at any one trip to the bar. $80.00 is kind of a steal for that.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

I'll be there tonight. It is 2 blocks from MSG and also 2 blocks from me. Not sure if I'll deal with the post Phish shitshiw or just chill

Kanye in NY for NYE sounds tempting, but I've already been to one Pablo show with another potentially in the works. There is this going on in Brooklyn during NYE as well: www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?887876
**edit** Self-Dunce. This is Thanksgiving Eve! Sorry.

Dumpstaphunk Announces Third Annual Phunksgiving Eve Show In NYC
New Orleans, LA-based funk outfit Dumpstaphunk has announced plans for their 3rd Annual Phunksgiving Eve celebration in New York City to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. The show will take place Wednesday, Nov. 23rd at American Beauty. It has been quite awhile since Ivan Neville and company have played such an intimate-sized venue, which will make for even more of a special event. With Neville leading the way on Hammond B3 and keys, Alvin Ford Jr. on drums, Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III on dual bass provide one of the filthiest rhythm sections in the entire funk game today. Guitarist Ian Neville makes it look so easy up on stage, as he and Hall (who switches back and forth between bass and guitar effortlessly) lay down some seriously funky Crescent City grooves. Thanksgiving Eve tends to be one of the biggest party nights of the year, so make sure to get ticket to this extremely intimate, funk-fueled dance party to help get that appetite going with some plentiful portions of the F-U-N-K. Expect plenty of surprises on this extra special night. A limited allotment of Early Bird tickets are currently available here, with a general on-sale beginning this Friday, October 21st at 12pm EDT here. Check out footage of Dumpstaphunk laying down “Dancing To The Truth” from last year’s Phunksgiving throwdown!
That would be a great show. I am trying to swing a Nashville NYE trip, been debating between Old Crow and Widespread...this would easily be the choice now if it works out for me.
