This had me in tears last night. He was everything that was right in metal and hard-core.
Yeah. It seems like every band, label, individual I follow in metal/hardcore had a post about him today. Even Uniform who did not know him personally spoke about how odd it was for them to release new music when so many of their friends were hurting.
Read a lot of stuff about it today. Really rough. He seemed like such a good dude, the whole, "this isn't music for white people to be dumb rednecks to" is just so beautiful to me. Missed them twice in the last few years because other stuff got in the way.
Fingers crossed for a Hornets Nest 2 minutes 2 late night Monday.
On the lighter side, from getting directed to Ice It's tribute, turns out T is a huge Marc Rebillet fan lol
Growing up I would stay up late and watch Morgus. Today he passed away link. I have a university of Morgus certificate since 1987, that thejeremy got resigned for me because I'm such a fan.
Fn Dr. Morgus huh? I think Chopsley died a couple times but I remember him being around since I was like 6 or 7. Aw haw. Even though they harmed and killed many of our fellow New Orleanians, I’m still sad. Oh ho. I’m tempted to put on Galactic Ya-Ka-May to hear his introduction to one of the greatest and most important underground albums of 2010. All he needed to do was a brain transplant so that he could take the talent of one brain and put it into the brain of someone else. Aw haw
2024: The Floozies, Phyphr, Disco Biscuits, Cimafunk, WSMFP, The Killers, Cory Wong, Dumpstaphunk, Bomba Estereo, Molly & Golden Hwy, Big Freedia, Payton/Nth Power, A.P&TFN

Chopsly who was on the late night show, starting in '87 passed away in 2019. I actually met his daughter at the folk art museum in the point a week after he passed.
Ugh this is fucking me up more than anything like this in awhile. Incredible that he played a fucking superhero while battling cancer. Played James Brown and Jackie Robinson. It's such a loss for the culture.
Julie I'm curious what the Miami scene is saying about it
Haven’t seen too many people speak up because of the rape allegations. He had more of an impact on the New York scene than Miami but he was still considered a legend in dance music. I remember him bringing out P Diddy at Ultra 2011.
