Francis is absolutely outrageous live (in the best way possible) - I'd be extremely happy to even see half of these names on the lineup.
Sidenote: saw BBNG earlier this month - kind of a letdown. Instrumentation was really good for the most part, but the drummer talked way too much and kept trying to hype up the crowd. I felt like I was at a bad pop-EDM show at times.
That's weird, BBNG barely talked at their aftershow with Tyler the Creator in Chicago last year. It was a hell of a show. Pop EDM is the last impression I would want from a BBNG show. With how much time and work goes into making their music come alive live...I hope that your experience with BBNG doesn't happen at Roo.

It was definitely odd and not what I was expecting. Again, though, the music was great. It just kept getting ruined by the drummer doubling as a hypeman. Barring conflict, if they're on the Roo lineup, I'd probably give them another shot.

seeing glass animals tonight, gonna attempt to meet them and ask about roo. will keep you all posted.
How was it?
it was so awesome! the new album translates so nicely live and it was an amazing time. they have so much energy, it's insane. if you can, i'd catch them on this mini tour they're doing.
also, i did ask dave (the leader singer) about roo. he said with a wink, "we already have a few festivals lined up." so take that as what you will. he also said he couldn't reveal any names.

Very important question: Are we going to get the xx (late night) or is primavera gonna quack us over?
I would guess we'll be doubly fucked by Shaky Knees and Primavera. Also expecting the (Late Night) designation to go to Chance
Eh, I actually expect Chance to get a pre-headlining What spot. He's also already had a late night slot before, as well as done the superjam. I'd imagine a change of pace.
But unfortunately I do sense the impending double quack as well.

If Roo booked Soundgarden, where would they play? I feel like Pre-HL for U2 would be the most likely spot.
They just got announced for Rock on the Range
I honestly would love a top 6 of U2/ RHCP/ The Weeknd/ Chance/ Soundgarden/ The xx
Has The xx definitely reached sub-headliner status? I'm not disputing it, I'm genuinely curious about that. I figured they'd be billed somewhere like 7-12 at best, had no idea they'd gotten that big.

They might be 7th. But unless Roo books a 2014 or 2013 caliber lineup they won't be any lower. They are really popular. The success of Jamie xx's album def helped.

they already subbed at Coachella and they're 4th on the SA Lolla lineups.
I saw them in 2006 at Warped Tour (they opened for All American Rejects, blasphemy) and it was freaking awesome and I was front row. Got their autographs on a world tour tshirt and everything. I've been dying to see them again. I have a wedding the Saturday of RotR so I'm hoping they aren't that day but my god they would be so much fun to have at Bonnaroo. Especially if they played Americana in it's entirely.

Not looking good for The xx at Roo. Primavera Sound is heavily rumored. And Shaky. So that's a double edged dildo for us.
I doubt they get both The xx and Bon Iver from us.
I bet they get both. Launchy said that Bon Iver will only do festivals where he is a headliner. XX also makes too much sense as a headliner at both this and Shaky. I think Roo probably gets the National if anything from that genre/tier.
Toss Trey Anastasio in the 'likely' column I suppose!
Does that really make him likely? It shows TAB will be active through at least June 3, where the tour currently ends in Montana. Just as likely he takes a break during June to gear up for Phish shows in July, rather than playing additional June dates.

I'd agree with you if the tour didn't pass over Tennessee

The tour does kind of dance around TN, and Trey does tend to play Nashville whenever possible, so I'm picking up what you're putting down.
