This is... my exact September? Maybe I'll sit outside and listen/watch the Avalanches from the waterfront. But with Moderat also confirmed, I'm getting nervous at how good this lineup might be.

If that rumored event in San Francisco with the Chemical Brothers, Jamie xx, Four Tet, Floating Points, Peggy Gou, etc. actually happens, I wonder if there will be a lot of overlap with CRSSD since it's supposedly happening the same weekend.

dates are sep 24+25 -- confirmed by Moderat's tourdates. lineup usually drops in June.
Goldenvoice is coming for our neck with that Portola lineup
If the fest was in LA, thats def their motive. But theres at least a little respect in space by doing it in SF. They also wpuldve been breaking crssd radius clauses most likely.

Chemical Brothers are officially out now. Playing Denver Friday the 23rd and then Portola on the Sunday the 25th. Avalanches are playing the Denver show as well, and with the LA show on the 22nd are way less likely now.
Just noticed Trentemøller is playing a venue in San Diego a couple days before the festival, and the show is presented by CRSSD. But then instead of sticking around for the fest, he goes to Mexico City the next day, off Saturday, then Denver Sunday. Kinda seems like he was gonna play CRSSD, then booked the Mexico City show, so now they're doing this club show in San Diego instead. Also a bit of an odd venue for a CRSSD show, not sure they've booked something at Belly Up before.
I'd love it if CRSSD went back to having a few acts like that, but given how sparse the attendance was when the Flaming Lips played, I don't see it happening.

even Hot Chip had a pretty small crowd but I liked it when the booked acts like that too.

What about Portugal. The Man and Glass Animals? They both had huge crowds.
