I did technically see him with Freddie Gibbs at Bonnaroo, but found his DJing during that set pretty awkward and underwhelming.
Yea about 20min into this and cant do it anymore.
I'll probably swing by for some shots then head to Danny Daze.
For what it's worth, Madlib recently played Boiler Room in Madrid, and while the transitions still make me cringe a bit, the song selection makes me consider dropping by to check him out.
Also, you shouldn't be leaving until 5... but, yeah, just walk a ways away to get out of the uncharge range and it's allll good
Yeah it was usually closer to then when I left each night last year. But I always got the higher rates cause I got picked up right outside the gates. How far/where should you walk to get out of that range?
My flight to Miami is in about 12hrs. I'll be at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino around midnight tomorrow night if anyone wants to grab a beer. Attempting to stay out and awake as late as possible so that I can sleep late on Friday and make it all night at the festival.
Hey guys! Super excited about this! I have question tho, my mom and I are driving in from Naples just for the night so we are going to have our car with us and we're not staying at a hotel. On the iii points website tho, they state that there is no parking at the event and we will have to uber. So where is the closest parking garage or parking lot to the event? Preferably safest as well, as I will be with my mom. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'll be in Pembroke Pines (30-ish minutes from Miami, 20-ish minutes from that casino), if I have the energy after driving this evening I'll swing by.

There are several parking lots surrounding the venue for $20 all of them are run by iii points staff
Flying Lotus is screening his film "Kuso" tonight at O Cinema Wynwood as part of our Activations program. If anyone is in town tonight, you should come check it out.

Wish I could make it, but won't get in until 10 p.m. or so.

Thanks for the heads up! I swear on the site it said there was not going to be parking at the venue...
Anyone else find that Gorillaz set a bit disappointing?
But The Black Madonna, Jesus Christ.
I thought it was fine. I had never seen them before and they didn't quite meet my expectations, but I enjoyed it for the most part. My biggest problem was the setlist, especially ending on a song as anti climatic as Plastic Beach. Andromeda was lots of fun tho.
The lack of access to water at this festival is pretty egregious.

Couldn’t agree more, the water situation really needs to be standard at these festivals. Especially with all the young kids on drugs that still don’t know their limit

It felt like a lot of highs with a lot of lows in the setlist.
Buying water is a bitch, but once you have a water bottle you can refill it at the unisex bathroom water fountain behind the Main Frame.

My biggest gripe last year was the water, and it remains my biggest gripe this year.
Last year I believe the price was $6 for a water, which is dangerous and absurd. This year its $5, but the bottles are smaller (lol), only 11oz bottles. Plus the lines are crazy. I tried going in VIP to get water since the promised water in the "media" area was non-existent, and it STILL took me 20 minutes and $9 ($4 in VIP as opposed to $5), just to get 22oz of water which I quickly chugged.
That being said, while its a pretty big gripe, its one of my only gripes. Aside from the massive crowds this year, everything else has been pretty smooth. The AC pumping into Main Frame felt amazing during the earlier part of yesterday, but once it got packed, it couldnt hold against the number of warm bodies and it got quite hot everywhere you went.
I really enjoyed everything yesterday in Main Frame, except for maybe Actress, wasn't feelin that one for some reason, maybe because it felt like he was trying to make my ears bleed at times.
Gorillaz was "ok". Being the first time seeing them, I was a little let down by the setlist, especially the ending. THought for sure we'd get an encore with some older hits included.
Hoping its noticeably less crowded today for Nicolas Jaar since he's not as big of a name.

whaaaat you guys got Plastic Beach, that's the first time played since 2010. Was at their Atlanta show and thought it was amazing, looks like you guys got a much shorter set list though. Hope you all still had fun

Shame about the water for the media tent, that was my plan for today.
Affordable and easy access to water should not be an issue at any festival. It's shameful that Miami promoters don't seem to care about it.
Exactly.
And if you're gonna try to turn a massive profit on water sales, at LEAST have free water refill stations as an option. Hell, bring in a sponsor like Camelbak who will supply drinking water at no charge to the festival.
Also, I ran into Jamie XX at the bar backstage at Main Frame tonight and asked him if the Space b2b rumors were true. He just smiled and said he wished, but its up to Talabot.
