Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
If we're talking weird we can't forget when Seasick Steve was there.
I'd love for him to come back. So great live. His last set was hot and sunny but it was nice if you just walked into the pit the stage blocked the sun for the most part.
Am I the only one who just doesn't think Massive Attack is that great? Mezzanine was weak to me. On the other hand Dummy by Portishead is my second or third favorite album ever. I think Sigur Ros could happen next year since Roo apparently almost booked them last year but were out bidded by a European festival. Portishead at any american festival or gig would warrant me traveling there.
Hall & Oates would be weird/fun. This was probably the year to make it happen though since they were on tour.
Also sign me up for Dolly Parton, another booking I'm shocked Bonnaroo has never gone after.
Edit: Just looked it up and didn't realize how much they still tour, make Hall & Oates happen bonnaroo!
Saw H&O a little over a year ago when they came to town. They sold the thing out in a few weeks after tickets went on sale and tickets were going for $150 a pop the day off on secondary market. It was perhaps the most fun I've had at a concert that wasn't at a festival.

What about "weird" gets for rap? I'd love to see someone like KRS-One or Big Daddy Kane at Bonnaroo. Or maybe for millenials, something more appealing/popular(?) like LL Cool J maybe? Disclaimer: No idea if any of these people tour or are any good live.

LL Cool J is playing this year at ACL, so that's realistic.
Bonnaroo '15/'16/'17/'18/'19 - ACL '13/'14/'15/'17/'18 - Fun Fun Fun '14 - SXSW '13/'14/'15 - FPSF '16
2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers
The B-52s Pond Santana (now that Carlos is back with the old band, I'd be in favor of Roo booking them) The Raconteurs/The Dead Weather Eric Burdon and the Animals Zappa Plays Zappa Foxygen The Bees (if they ever decide to awake from their slumber) FÖLLAKZOID any good artist collaborating with The Roots
So what festival is everyone thinking about doing if Bonnaroo completely blows it next year?
I'd love to do Coachella but it's just at a tough time of year work-wise, especially since I already take a day or two off for jazzfest around that time. Shakey Knees always looks cool and I can drive there, which is a plus. But the festival that really intrigues me is Movement. Electronic music is far and away the most interesting current genre to me and I'd like to explore it further, even if I don't recognize most of the names on last year's lineup, I'm willing to learn.
Skipped this year for Movement and Pitchfork, committing to Coachella next year.
So after seeing Chance's tour schedule I could easily see Chance booked 4th or 5th
How so? The seating capacity for most of those venues is 5,000 people or less. He would definitely be in the top 10, but I doubt he would crack the top 5.
I love chance as much as the next guy but I hope he isn't the highest billed hip hop artist.
Can't imagine him being booked and not being the top hip-hop act.
Unless they book someone like Drake or The Weeknd. In all honesty, it wouldn't surprise me if Chance is the highest billed hip-hop act next year. They've exhausted most of the remaining options (other than Drake, The Weeknd, and Pharrell). And even though he would probably be billed somewhere in the 6-10 range, it's not unheard of for Roo to have the highest billed hip-hop artist outside the top 5 (e.g., 2012 and 2013).
Future, Drake or chance will be highest billed rapper.
If this post is implying that these 3 rappers would all be placed in the same place on a bill, I strongly disagree. Drake is the only one whose definitely big enough to headline (though I hope he doesn't). Chance, again, would get a boost on a Roo lineup to maybe top 5 just cos of his involvement. But otherwise him and Future are just top 10 material.

In other news, has anyone seen the Music Midtown lineup?? Offers some heavy fuel for the conversations on whether both 21 Pilots and Beck are big enough to headline. Both Beck and 21P are placed higher than Deadmau5, who was Roo's #3 name last year. 21 is actually the second name on the lineup, with only the Killers ahead of them (Beck is #3). Also, Alabama Shakes sink below them as well at #5.
My first thought is that the whole lineup is ordered in a really weird way. Otherwise, Beck and 21P would technically be big enough to headline an equivalent of the 2015 lineup. Quack.

I think you're not understanding what "highest" means.

Yes I am - but I thought that, by saying that one of these rappers would be the highest billed, they were implying that all 3 would be on the same spot/area of the lineup if they were to be booked.
I wanna add though, I just saw the lineup for The Meadows fest. Chance is above Kygo, whose 6 on ACL's lineup. I guess he's actually top 5 material regardless of his Roo involvement. I suppose he'll likely get the #4 spot like Kendrick and J. Cole did.

No. One of the 3 will be the highest billed rap act next year in my opinion. Future is billed very high at Lollapalooza this year. Drake would be top 3. Future probably around 6-9 same with chance.

To counter this, Chance is billed 12th at Outside Lands. Honestly, I think acts like Kygo and The Chainsmokers are way overbilled on ACL's lineup. Neither of those should be receiving a top 10 billing in 2016.
