Yaaaas. I wonder what time FI will be going on? I would love an early time like 6/7 because I'll probably be driving back up to DC that night.... But I know it will likely be more like 9 haha.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I hate that it's Sunday. I'm betting on the later side, but not too late. I'm sure there are some noise curfew they have to abide by.
They added Danny Brown yesterday. I'm thinking we might get another name or 2 before it happens.

Set times announced. In true GL fashion, I'll be there but I'll be late.
Awesome - I was hoping, and kind of expecting, that they'd do Danny>Dan>FI, and I'm really glad that they did! Just gotta get there by 5ish, and I'll be a happy lady.
The outdoor venue space (have you been to Carrboro much before, ?) is pretty open and spacious, used for the town Farmers Market weekly. But it did fill up for Sylvan Esso, with people standing/sitting in fairly close quarters even far back into the lawn. So I'm wondering how packed it will be for the first two shows... I'll probably aim to get there around 4:30 to try and snag a good spot, and plus I like a lot of what I've heard from Ed Schrader

I used to do the Cat's Cradle and Local 506 a ton when I lived in Roanoke. Since I moved back, I haven't had much of a reason to. Probably going on 8 or 9 years since my last visit. I'm excited about being outside for a Future Islands show.
It's looking like we are gonna be closer to 5/6-ish when we get there. I'll miss most of the day but it's not like I haven't seen everyone on that lineup before.

Cats Cradle is my shit. I mean, I grew up in Chapel Hill so of course it has sentimental value for me, but also it is just a really fucking great venue. With so many awesome acts that come through. Local 506 has a lovely vibe at it too.
And I've seen F.I. twice before - once for a similar day-long outdoor festival thing (in DC) and once at Philly's Union Transfer. The latter was still a fantastic show (I can't imagine Sam putting on a bad show), but the outdoor one was just magical. I'm excited for this!

I'm pretty stoked. It's been long enough for me to get lost again (in Chapel Hill). I'm a big fan of that feeling.
I'd love to meet you over a beer when we're there (and the infamous ~Mrs GL~); I'll be there with some friends and maybe some family and possibly my boyfriend, tbd. but the Town Commons is a great hang out lawn space, and at the Sylvan show there a few months ago, they were selling lots of local beers, etc.

My son went to this, said it was a good show. Any feedback?
I skipped, because we were headed to Durham on Monday night for the Acoustic Film Series at the Carolina Theater. My Morning Jacket discussed "The Dark Crystal" and other topics important to them. Good fun.

It was really really good. Danny Brown has such a fun and charismatic persona, and is a truly impressive live rapper (since many rappers don't bring it in their live shows, IMO). Dan Deacon was perfectly bizarre and energetic. There was an awesome dance off circle at one point, mandated by Dan.
And Future Islands were incredible as always - best show of theirs I've seen, for sure. Sam cried near the end of it.
