it feels like EDM acts will always have the biggest attendance nowadays. probably because you don't have to have a great spot to have a good time. i just think its sad that more people would rather see that rehashed shit EDM that calvin puts out over one of the biggest classic rock bands in history.
edit* also, i don't think LCD being arguably the smallest headliner makes them the most likely to share a day. Kanye definitely wasn't the smallest headliner in 2011 and he shared the day with the strokes

Well, they'd argue that they can't believe people would rather see some rehashed past their prime old dudes instead of the best DJ/Producer working today. Also Taylor Swift.
I'm pretty excited for GnR, and I'm mostly confident it'll be great. But it could end up being total balls. No one is gonna leave Calvin Harris disappointed.
GNR is definitely the biggest name in that group. With that said it would be a shame to not name LCD as sole headliner on their day. They were semi-upset in 2010 when they preheadlined for Jay-Z and no one seemed to care. I can't see them coming off of this hiatus/agreeing to this gig without being THE headliner.
Agree that an LCD reunion not having its own line is pretty unlikely, but if anyone shares it's them.
GnR is the biggest name on the poster, but Calvin Harris could be the best attended.
Apparently this past year Kaskade drew the largest crowd in Coachella history, putting Calvin Harris' 2014 crowd at the third largest behind the 2pac hologram show.

If he's gearing up for a world tour that will be highly publicized I imagine he's getting in as good of shape as he can.
That'd be a shame.
I think I remember watching a documentary or VH1 show or something when they were trying to make Vince Neil look like Vince Neil again for the Motley Crue reunion. He had plastic surgery, was working out feverishly, had his hair dyed, had a special dietitian come in, etc. I imagine Axl is getting similar treatment.

the only difference is an argument could be made that Vince Neil is sane.

Undercard should be stacked as always, with Sufjan, Godspeed, Beach House and Deerhunter seeming like real possibilities I'm sure I'll still be happy with the lineup once it comes out even if 2/3 headliners aren't all that exciting to me.

So this is interesting. The Who just announced dates with a break around Coachella, but an LA date immediately after. So they're most likely not playing, but bass player Pino Palladino also plays with D'Angelo, so I think there's a good chance that finally happens.

The Prodigy were just announced for Snowbombing again next year, but luckily this time its the weekend before Coachella Weekend 1, so The Prodigy are still on the table!
If you don't dig anyone playing on Friday, Weekend 1 this year, you have the option of going to see Maiden at the Forum
A nice idea, but the odds of disliking the Friday lineup to the point that you'd just skip that day altogether is pretty farfetched. If I were that unhappy with one day, I probably just wouldn't spend the money on a ticket.
I still can't believe they missed out on booking them

They didn't even try, the Maiden tour is owned by LiveNation.
