If I can get the night off I'll prob go too.. its a bit away still, but you're more than welcome to stay at my house (i have two spare rooms) if you need to and if I don't end up going out and staying with friends on campus. Don't drive back to cinci that late on NYE, that's bad news bears.

well thank you for the offer, that's very kind of you! Yea I will not be driving back. Either someone will be sober driving back (not me ) or we will get a hotel. Most of my friends like the Werks so I'm pretty sure I can convince them all to go.

Man, hoping for something really jaw dropping. I am off the Thur-Sun, and can leave work by around noon on Wed the 31st. I am fully expecting to be able to cast aside my wintertime OH blues and come and hang out with some of you those days!! Just waiting for the right show/place/companions.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Also, Black Lips will not be playing at One Eyed Jacks for NYE this year. They'll be in Australia. New Mastersounds + Dumpstaphunk looks like the winner so far for nola.

Was really hoping for an of Montreal NYE show at the 40 Watt, had a room reserved for a couple of months just in case. NYE '08 and '10 were most excellent spending them with OM. I guess there is the chance they're doing it at the Classic Center but I doubt it.
No Athens show around Halloween or NYE is kinda weird.
FYI, Elf Power and Circulatory System are doing a Halloween show at the 40 Watt and it's only $5. If you've never seen Circulatory System, it's a mix of Will Cullen Hart and other people from the Olivia Tremor Control and they will melt your face. The Late B.P Helium who used to play guitar for of Montreal is also in Elf Power now.

I keep expecting something exciting at Granada in Dallas each year but it's always Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights every damn time. I guess they stick with the local bands because fewer acts are traveling around the holidays.
