Members: Dylan Baldi (Singer-songwriter, lead and rhythm guitar, founding member), TJ Duke (Bass), Jayson Gerycz (Drums), Joe Boyer (Due to legal problems, he is no longer part of the band. He was a guitarist).
Biography: In 2009, Baldi spent his first semester as a freshman at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, with a major in saxophone performance. During weekends, Baldi returned to his parents' basement in Westlake, Ohio, to record music using GarageBand. He later created several fake bands, each with their own Myspace page on which Baldi featured his original music. Baldi created the music "for personal enjoyment, to see if I could write a song that was better than the last song I wrote." One of the fake bands Baldi created was Cloud Nothings.
Cloud Nothings' music caught the attention of Bridgetown Records who offered to release the first EP Turning On. Soon after the EP release, underground rock promoter Todd Patrick, from New York City, New York, invited the band to perform at Market Hotel in Brooklyn, New York, opening for the bands Woods and Real Estate. The invitation prompted Baldi to gather a band for the performance in December 2009.
Realizing the potential success of the band, Baldi dropped out of college. He wrote a seven-page e-mail to his parents that explained his decision to work in music full-time. "They were cool with it," explained Baldi. "They trusted me. They've been supportive of me."
Carpark Records signed Cloud Nothings as a one-man band in 2010. Working with producer Chester Gwazda, the band released Cloud Nothings in January 2011. The album received favorable reviews. Pitchfork Media's David Bevan gave the self-titled album a 7.9 out of 10, writing "the result is another fantastic step forward, though not without some growing pains." Meanwhile, NME's Thomas Ward rated the album with a 7 out of 10. Cloud Nothings is "a fun, frenetic and crisp debut that is more resplendent than his lo-fi scuzz."
The band's third album, Attack On Memory, was released in January 2012. The first outing to feature the live lineup, it was the first album in 2012 to receive "Best New Music" status on Pitchfork.com.
By December 2012, the band had already begun writing their fourth studio album. In comparison to Attack On Memory, Baldi described the new material as being noiser, less melodic and less straightforward, with at least one song sounding like early Wire. A new album tentatively titled Body Music was expected to be released in "fall 2013," however in December 2013, Cloud Nothings posted a teaser for a new album produced by John Congleton, suggesting a 2014 release. In January of 2014, the band announced their fourth album, "Here and Nowhere Else," with a release date of April 1. The same day, they released the album's first single, "I'm Not Part of Me."
On April 1, "Here and Nowhere Else" was released on Carpark Records. The album was given an 8.7 out of 10 on Pitchfork and titled "Best New Music". The music video for "I'm Not Part of Me" was released the same day.

As far as albums go, I would say just stick to the two most recent albums. Their 3rd album "Attack on Memory" is pretty flawless. Top to bottom that album is super solid. One of those albums that I can't skip a track on. Their latest studio release "Here and Nowhere Else" is still coming together for me. I'm not sure if I like the entire album, but the singles that were released, I love those. Here are some youtube videos for your viewing.
Pysical Reaction/Live Show
Personally, I have never been to a Cloud Nothings show, but what you can expect will be a rowdy young crowd with mosh pits. I have heard that they are really good live, however, since the departure of guitarist Joe Boyer I have heard that the live show seems to be lacking a bit. The extra guitar provided by Joe gave that band a little something extra and I'm not sure that they are the same without him. (This is all hearsay obviously, but you can kind of see it even from a few YouTube videos.)

As tight as they were right off the bat, the opening chords to Stay Useless from 2012?s Attack On Memory are what finally sent the crowd into a frenzy. Once the mosh pit opened up, the band covered the entirety of Here and Nowhere Else and most of Attack, with singles Psychic Trauma and I’m Not Part Of Me leading the way in crowd pleasing. Personal Notes
This is one of the acts I was originally very excited to see on the lineup, but recently, having seen some fairly recent live footage, I really do think the band hurts without Joe Boyer on stage. If there aren't any other acts I am interested in, I will be at this show in the mosh pits making memories.

Sorry for the late post. I was working on my last final of my college career, so this had to get pushed to the side. Is there anything I can do about the margins on the text? I want to squeeze it in tighter and don't see how to fix it.

This may be my most anticipated set. Didn't discover them until after the lineup came out, and haven't stopped listening since. Can't fucking wait for this
