My first year was in 2010, and their was a seating area in the center of What Stage (by the sound and lighting) where we flirted our way into to watch Stevie and Jay-z. Is this for VIP or Total Access?
Oh, thats ADA. But its not next to the soundboard/lighting area. Its further back. And yes, there is a raised platform with seats and bathrooms. Its beside the first beer stand in the middle of the What lawn if you're coming from the Which stage.
And you must have an ADA wristband in order to access it. VIP/Roll Like A Rockstar/Artist/Guest wristbands wont work.

I thought the VIP mound at the What was one of the most disappointing parts of VIP. The bathrooms/bar was nice, but I was able to easily get a much better spot for headliners in the general crowd.
They need an air conditioned building that's on a permanent foundation on top of that hill. You could have tvs that show whoever is playing the what stage, as well as a bar, tables, & bathrooms. That hill is big enough for it.

The mound is at the What Stage already, do they really need TV's playing the act that is already playing directly outside? Why pay for VIP and make the trip to Bonnaroo if you'd rather get drunk in air conditioning while watching the headliners on a television?
Just stay home and watch the youtube streams for christ sakes.
Umm, I already knew the mound is at the what stage, I've been on that mound. I also know how hard it is to see the act from that mound. All I was suggesting was a permanent building where they could serve drinks, and people can socialize and watch the acts on TV while cooling off, as well as having two air-conditioned bathrooms within the building. I didn't say anything about getting drunk, but thanks for putting words into my mouth.
To me, it's very similar to going to these newer major league baseball stadiums and going to a fine dining restaurant and watch part of the game from there, while having a television nearby with close caption to see the action up close. Not saying that you have to spend your entire time at the place, however, it provides a luxurious option for someone who spent $1500 for a ticket to get out of the sun and have a beer while listening to the music for a few minutes.
If they want to go to the bathroom inside the building, that has running water, a mirror, etc, more power to them. Or they can just go down to the disgusting port o let in GA.
I mean, you'll sit out of the sun, still be able to see What Stage, with the option of seeing the artists up close on the television, while the sound is actually coming from What Stage. You don't have to stay there forever, but, it's just a luxurious place for you to take a break. That's all.
I remember seeing a couple of bands on What Stage that I didn't care about, but saw because there were no real other options. I thought it would be nice to have an air-conditioned building on top of the hill that provides seating, where I can hear the band live that's too far away to see up close, but still see their faces on the TV.

When I've gone VIP I've loved stepping into the air conditioned tent near the Which stage to cool down for a few minutes during some of the hotter years (It wasn't so much a need last year. Thank you, Mother Nature). After up all night LN's I've even fallen asleep in there a time or two. I'd love to see them add air at the What tent on the hill, but I don't see them building a permanent structure for one festival weekend a year. It likely wouldn't be financially practical for them. Roo, when it's all said and done, is a business.
Normally, I would agree but was it financially feasible for SPACE to buy the land when they could just rent? Is it financially feasible to try to get running water all over the place? Is it financially feasible to build a permanent foundation @ the what stage? Building a small building on top of the mound won't cost much, but no worries, it won't happen anytime soon, or ever.

You raise some valid points regarding some of the permanent infrastructure they've added, but moving from those items to full-fledged permanent buildings is a pretty big leap.

Only depends on their long term plans. If they want it for one week out of the year, then yes. But if they're looking to do more with the land, then maybe not.

Is it easy to go from the hill to the What Field? I have a feeling I'll want to go back and forth, depending on the act. I also have a feeling my girlfriend will want to go sit on the hill while I go cause shenanigans closer to the stage.
