Catching up with the last couple days. Also watched Trial of the Chicago Seven. It sucks shit. So clear that Sorkin didn't even know what the trail was about when he took the job. Complete dumbshit hack.

The Fountain.
This just happens to be on HBO this morning. What a fucking beautiful movie.
I remember reading something in Wired when it came out about how much of the the space sequences and the cosmic effects were actually done practically rather than digitally. They took these microscope cameras that could blow up a period to the size of an IMAX screen and filmed oils with different dusts and particles being thrown into them to simulate the dynamic nebulae and stuff in those sequences. Obviously that would have been later processed and inserted digitally, but I thought that was a really cool technique.
I don't love Aronofsky's later work, tbh, but I do love his early stuff. Pi, Requiem (talk about a horror show, I can't even finish that one sometimes) and this are all awesome. I'm in tears watching this.

On the road till the morning. Watching this beauty on Youtube. Got to watch 6 by Saturday night to make it to 31and I'll be stuck in bumble without internet.
Meh. I finished it before responding to see if the ending was crazy enough to make it worth it. It's pretty much shit. A couple entertaining bits with Mickey Rooney. He was really the only reason I wanted to see it because it's rare that a Hollywood legend ends up in a 4th sequel of a low-rate franchise. He's pretty intense and there's some batshit stuff going on that's entertainingly bad. It's just not enough to carry an entire movie.
Apocalypse is probably the best. But it gets increasingly absurd and more entertaining after that. I've talked about these on here a good bit. I love them. One of my favorite shitty Hollywood franchises.
Horror Vanguard has been doing mini-episodes on virus horror since the Summer and have finally started the whole series after randomly doing part 5. haha.

Alice doesn't just kill the bad guys. She does back flips off her bike and sends it, and the creatures, 30 foot up in the air. That way she can easily shot the gas tank and kill shit. Very cool.
