Lets say one was in search of a VIP ticket, but did not need the parking pass. If one was to do a split, would the purchaser of the VIP ticket + parking pass pay more then the purchaser of just the VIP ticket?
I want to experience the VIP amenities, but will still probably get a Murfreesboro hotel. I don't mind camping, but I feel that if I'm going to make the late nights (my favorite part of Roo this past year) I need to sleep with A/C.
thoughts? whats the ethical thing to do in this situation?
Prob wait until late in the game, gamble and get a single on craigslist or ebay. I saw single VIPs going for 400... And if you get caught and can't get one, well there is always GA or maybe you could score a Guest pass, those are awesome

waiting is probably the smartest idea, thats a good point.
I do like the feeling of having my ticket in hand though. I was considering doing the VIP presale so I could do the payment plan as well, would make things easier financially.
Like last year I'm constantly waffling between hoteling and camping. This year with the beautiful weather camping probably would have been alright, but most roos are not like this roo. staying in a hotel also means I miss out on some fun roo experience stuff, most notably the brunch, and also the Thursday shows.

still plenty of time to think about it.
Why would you miss brunch or Thursday shows? A lady on the shuttle bus told me they have shuttles from the hotels to roo running 24 hours a day! Is that not accurate?
Or were you not going with the hotel travel package?

No, not the hotel travel package. Just booking a hotel in Murfreesboro and driving myself back and forth. My understanding was that for day parkers making the Thursday shows is really difficult because of all the traffic, so I didn't even attempt it this year.
Making the brunch while staying in a hotel is difficult because, its hard to get motivated to get to the farm at 10am. Realistically that means I have to leave my hotel at 8:30am-9ish, which means i have to get up earlier then that, which then kind of negates the whole get plenty of sleep in your hotel plan.
This past year, I drove up Thursday night (which means I didn't have to burn a vacation day, another perk), getting to the hotel about 2am. I did Friday Roo from 4PM-3:45am, Saturday Roo from 2PM-3:30AM, and Sunday Roo from 1:30PM-whenever Phish quit. It was pretty freaking sweet, and when I was walking back to day parking every night I was always grateful to be returning to my hotel. And Sunday when I was hanging out with friends that camped all weekend, I couldn't help but notice the contrast between their mood/energy level and my mood/energy level.
but its a trade off. I definitely miss out on certain things by staying in a hotel, but I feel like the quality of my experiences is possibly higher since my body is getting better rest.
