I've recently seen and become enamored with the movie, The Forbidden Zone, scored by Danny Elfman, the chief of The Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo. (remember them?) Danny went on to score most, if not all, of Tim Burton's films.
Has anyone else seen this movie?
The Forbidden Zone is chock full of craziness, from the topless Princess, to the Chicken Man, to the Kipper Twins. There is even a human candelabra. Hervé "da plane, da plane" Villechaize stars as the King.
This film is sure to be offensive to all manner of folks in it's twistedness and in someways makes me think of some scenes I've witnessed at Bonnaro, and on this mortal coil, in general.
Most of the movie is on youtube in segments. Chances are it will not be in your local video store. I bought a copy off Ebay just for grins, one for the file.
Among my favorite scenes is the classroom scene with the "kids" singing the alphabet song.
Too frickin funny. In some ways it reminds me of my classroom, some of the things that come out of my kids mouths.
Thanks for indulging me with this post and I hope you go see some clips, laugh a little and reply.

I saw this movie a looong time ago. And it is a very good movie IMO, but I think allot of people would be offended by it's dark humor, and unsettling B&W BDSM themed weirdness. Definitely a PG-13 movie in the most liberated sense. Though I suspect it might even garner an NC-17 if they tried releasing something like it today.
I think it's absolutely worth the watch, but I am also a Residents fanatic so dark humor and disturbing high weirdness is fine by me.

"Disturbing high weirdness" is a good way to put it. This one of those scratch your head afterward movies and go "what"? And then you want to see it again. I did anyway.

If you liked Forbidden Zone, You might enjoy Vileness Fats. It was a movie shot by The Residents from 1972 - 1976 until they eventually abandoned the project, perportedly only 1/3 way through the script.
The plot has never been entirely agreed upon by fans, and The Residents, true to form, are not confirming or denying anything. What is widely agreed upon is that Vileness Fats is a village inhabited by 1 arm midgets, and the religious leader of the town, Steve, is a schizophrenic one armed midget who lives with his mother.
The village is constantly being raided by a bandit gang of one armed midgets who come disguised as meat and steal the towns real meat. They are led by a bandit named Lonesome Jack.
The town enlists the help of the brothers Arf & Omega, who are professional tag team wrestling Siamese twins, to help them fight off the bandits. But the brothers are tricked into going to a nightclub where a beautiful female singer, working for the bandits, flirts with them both and eventually their jealousy towards each other over her results in a fight. They agree to a dual to the death with knives and one of the brothers eventualy stabs the other to death.
Some footage was eventually released in a 30minute film called Whatever Happened to Vileness Fats.
Here's the final scene - It's not a spoiler. The whole film is completely crazy weird and wonderful.
