One question I haven't found an answer to is that of generators in the VIP tent camping area. I have a Honda EU2000i that is very quiet which I use to run a small window AC for camping here in Florida and was wondering if using it at Roo would be frowned upon?
It can be done but it is hard to do without being offensive in smell and sound to your neighbors. Your spot is not very big and for instance it is very hard to idle a car without feeling like you are poisoning people. It can be done with a nice generator just please think about your neighbors before you fire it up. Several people on here have had bad carbon monoxide issues, in VIP you will have better chance than in GA. I would think that if you pulled your car in a little further and put the vent into the roadway you should be mostly ok.

Burn that gas! fuck Bonnaroo being green nothing like ideling a car for 10 hours this year 16 last year! They will never be truly green till they take care of that @$4 or so per gallon I burn all I can during Bonnaroo. Seriously my cousin got the bright idea to bring a generator last year I turned that loud piece of shit off because it was messing with my tranquility. Nothing like hearing that pop pop popping on top of your ears ringing from the shows the night before. Want to talk about a killer headache recipe. I will never let anyone bring a generator in my party again. If they do well they can find their own damn way to the farm. A good shade canopy will do just as well cooling you off as a crappy box fan. Get a hammock and stick under the shade to get all around air flow.

Oh yes and when I came back to camp that dumb ass relative had the exhaust pointed where it was shooting back under the walled canopy we had erected it was making it hotter and it stunk like gas.

If it were GA I'd say absolutely not, but in VIP there's room for anything. We were in Camp Inforoo VIP last year and ran a generator quite a bit during the day for these high velocity fans. At night we used a power inverter for using the same fans in our tent.
There's a "road" in between every two rows of camping spots so you can put your generator facing the road and it won't bother anyone. Ours wasn't particularly quiet and I couldn't even hear it when it was running. There are tons of people with generators in VIP. With the music from What going there's no chance of bothering anyone with one. Now once the music stops I wouldn't recommend using one.
