Anticipation is building for the new Florence & The Machine album and producer Paul Epworth recently revealed some insider information about the recording process. Paul produced Flo's multi-platinum selling debut album 'Lungs' and has been busy in the studio with Flo in recent months, working on the eagerly awaited sequel. Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "Friday night and had a week of wonderful mixes coming in for Florence 2. I love handing something over to hear it come back better.. "I feel for the A&R dept having to try and whittle these tracks down to 10 or 12 because there really are no weak ones. "It's a weird record that sounds live in ways and like a machine in others, with sensitivity and power from both the music and Flo's voice." We'll have more details about the new album very soon on www.florenceandthemachine.net, so make sure you keep checking the site.
These tweets just came up from Florence as well.

"Hello interworld, I'm out of the studio and into the sunshine! Pop over to my website at 5pm tomorrow for a peek at something very special x"
"And it's not just footage of me riding my bike in 90's florals...x"
For me this was the hardest show to have to miss of the weekend and everytime I watch the DVD of her set at Roo I kick myself in the ass.
She could easily handle playing a pre headliner slot on the What, especially with another album worth of material. The new song she's been playing, Strangeness and Charm, is really, really good and if it is going to be the lead single I can't see her success slowing down any time soon. If you haven't heard the new song there is a live show from right after Bonnaroo I found on iTunes where the song is played.
I figure she can play in the same slot as The Black Keys did this year, hopefully leading into a killer headliner. ( Stones, Prince, McCartney)

Black Keys have been around for a long time. Plenty of acts come through Bonnaroo and blow up tent shows, but that doesn't mean they get to pre-headline. Maybe someday.
I agree, but I think her global success is what says she can pre-headline. Wait and see what happens when the new album comes out. If it takes off she'll be playing to full arenas and will be big enough to occupy that slot.
I think the announcement she has planned for tomorrow has leaked. According to @arcadefiretube her new album will be out November 7 in Europe, meaning we'll see it November 8.

All I was saying about the Black Keys is that they went from a tent to the What stage and I think Florence can do the same. I don't think it really matters how long somebody has been around for, is it not more about the level they're playing on? They probably should have played on the Which this year, more people who wanted to see them would have. Florence and the Machine have achieved a level of success that is already on par with what took the Keys ten years and many albums to achieve. So although I drew a parallel between the two I don't think it's fair to say, it took X-band a certain amount of time to make the move therefore it will be the same for another band.

Guys if you don't think Florence isn't big enough to pre-headline at this point you need to pay more attention. She's really popular, would be a huge draw for a lot of younger fans who pack Bonnaroo every year, and is just mainstream/alternative enough to fit what Bonnaroo has been going for.

meh.....not sold on her having one single and be given the pre-HL slot.......no denying that she blew the tent down at Roo this year, but Im not sold on a pre-HL slot for Florence. It will give me SOME nap time though if she is preHL.

Just look at Mumford and how fast they blew up, Florence is on a similar trajectory. She also sells out all her shows, which is a pretty good indicator of how popular she's gotten.
I see where youre at with this and I dont toally disagree with you. Personally, I think it would be let down if she was a HL. I can see where youre coming from with the Mumford argument, but I think thats pushing it a bit. You could have a long list of HL'ers if you gave a slot to everyone who sold out shows due to their popular single at the time ....maybe Kesha could co HL? (Sorry...not trying to insult your musical taste or opinion). To each their own.......but heres to hoping that Florence isnt back until 2013...FRESH BATCH for 2012!!!!

Well the sell out thing obviously doesn't work with everybody, but she's already played Bonnaroo, it makes sense that her success would translate to a bigger stage and time slot.

No doubt she gets a bigger slot but the amphitheater shows she played didn't sell out only the theatre/club shows. I fully support her return but it will be which closer or early pre headliner not the 8 o'clock shows the keys and mmj got this year more like a dead weather time slot

I really do agree Pre headliner I just think with this years pre headliners it was a special case. So much roo history with the keys and mmj that they got a night(late evening) pre headlining spot. With her I think it would be the old way they scheduled things
I don't know, I guess it depends on her next album. Two more big singles in a market not far removed from Adele and she's a pre headliner.
Hopefully the first single gets released tomorrow. She said the announcement comes at 5pm, I wonder what time zone she was talking about. I'm guessing it'll be around noon eastern.
Fixed. LOL. NME and SPIN had pretty much the same information.
I know they have said that the album will be released in NA sometime in November as well but it would be a pretty bad idea to not release it on the 8th. That is if they want better album sales. Personally I'd DL the album from a torrent and still buy it when it comes out here.

Yeah I feel like it's more likely they "PreHL" slot before whatever major act gets a mostly or fully unopposed slot on the Which, like Mumford and Sons pre-Buffalo Springfield this year.
Ba-zing. I mostly agree, although Brothers was pretty heavily produced. FloMo should play the slot Decemberists played if they come back next year. That way a lot of motherfvckers can see them, but they don't take up a prime nighttime slot.
New album out today, anyone else grab it? I think it's great. I picked up the deluxe edition and Strangeness is on disc two which is too bad, I think that should have been the first single and now it seems it won't be a single at all. Either way I see her coming back and playing a bigger slot ala Mumford, Phoenix, and Black Keys.
