-The most personal: Chicago being geographically above Minneapolis -Diagonal Canada -The crossing from Newark (??) to Rotterdam that I guess just goes through the English Channel or something -Similarly, the crossing from Jakarta to Auckland that I guess just goes around Australia -The line that seamlessly travels from Mexico City to Santo Domingo to San Juan to Portugal -Germany having twice as many train stops than the entirety of Africa -Even in our wildest fantasies of Africa maybe having trains one day, it *still* doesn’t go all the way to South Africa for some reason -The direct train line from Pyongyang to Seoul
etc etc etc
No New Orleans, and Dallas is by Jacksonville and Houston is on the other side of the country.
Another part I can't get out of my head is that it goes from the middle of Iran to the east coast of Australia without any stops, going around India, which makes me assume it's going over the Himalayas to complete the trip. It then goes over a huge chunk of the Indian Ocean, just ignoring Indonesia and everything around there, but it somehow lands on northeast Australia, which means it has to try real hard to not go over any of Indonesia.

I can’t find the Yay Thread so I’ll post it here. I’m participating in a Juneteenth auction. The two things I had in yesterday’s auction brought in $89 together. The thing I had in today’s has brought in $105. That makes me happy.

I tried to take a picture of my horribly burned hand to show y’all, but for some reason, completely unrelated to the burn, it looked like I had some kind of weird ogre hand.

(sorry you burned your hand)
Thanks, I put some neosporin on it and it already doesn’t hurt so bad anymore, but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna leave a scar.

Ah shit that's a terrible place for a burn. Sorry again. And take it from someone with a big ol' second degree burn scar, you're gonna want to invest in some vitamin E cream if you are worried about scarring/discomfort.
And the picture was a reasonable size but I'm on desktop.
I scar easily leaving dark discoloration. I wish there were cool stories behind them but they're mostly just touching the oven rack when I shouldn't.
Yeah, that’s what this one is. It doesn’t look too bad this morning. I don’t think it’s going to be visible for long.
I have two long lasting visible scars. One is from when I was cleaning my room and decided it was time to dispose of my very cheaply framed New Kids on the Block poster. It was basically like a big piece of glass with a paper thin metal frame around it. I took the frame off and cut myself on the glass. Has to have been sixth or seventh grade.
The other is from playing kickball in fifth grade (so like 1989 or 90). We were playing on the pavement in the back parking lot because that’s where we had recess (my elementary school actually had a giant grass covered playground with nice equipment, but for some reason, the fifth graders had recess on the blacktop), and I tripped over the stick we were using for home plate. For years, Little flecks of pavement would come out of it from time to time but that stopped at some point.
