last time Liam Gallagher was in Boston he played a 5000cap venue and tickets were going for like $20 day of. will definitely be a firesale for the Gillette show. may grab a cheap ticket for the spectacle lol
And David Byrne and Johnny Marr play to 3k cap venues but they would still play arenas and maybe even stadiums with their former bands. Reunions hold different weight and stadiums are becoming much more common for live music these days.
Seeing a lot of Oasis chatter on social media, and a lot of it is actually american based and full of Gen Z commenters. I still think overall it will be an easy ticket to get, but I don't think it will flop in America
I think it helps the bands tumultuous history has been memed to death so there’s a lot of curiosity among younger people about this band who hates one another.

see 1 or 2 nights at an arena i could see selling well, football stadium just seems like a stretch. you may be right though, also the tour is limited enough where there probably will be a lot of people travelling

My wife and I have been planning to go to France next summer, and this morning she told me (mostly tongue in cheek, I think?) that we were going to go to the British Isles instead.
I do believe we'll have to go to a Chicago show, as Oasis was her favorite band when we met. The last time Oasis played Cincinnati (2006, I believe), her friend for whom she was matron of honor insisted that she throw her bachelorette party the night of the Oasis show. My wife obliged, and I believe this was the beginning of the end of their friendship. Good riddance. I never liked this friend to begin with.

ABBA got offered a billion dollars to tour 25 years ago and they said no. Now they have their hologram thing which rakes in a boatload every week.

I’ve DJed a lot of Abba inspired nights. Gen Z and millennials absolutely love Abba. A reunion would be huge. I would put them and Daft Punk as tied for #1.
I think a Smiths reunion would be pretty huge in America, isn't Morissey really popular with the Spanish speaking community here? They also had an aesthetic that seems primed to trend on tiktok

The Smiths easily have one of my favorite catalogs in music, I listen to them frequently, but at this point i don't think i'd be too excited to see them live?

Not saying The Smiths would be the most popular reunion among the acts everyone is listing, but there's probably a higher number of people who would see a limited run Smiths reunion and think "I must find a way to get to one of these show or else I'm gonna die."

these shows are like 5 songs too short imo but they’re still phenomenal if you can get tickets. $125 is steep but was very worth it.
Was just saying in the DC thread that I went last night and the small band set up is so much better for him. Agree it could have used even 2-3 more songs.
