I think Oasis could sell out U.S stadiums if they somehow get Tyalor Swift to open for them.
Seriously tho I expect something like the RHCP tour where they had the Strokes and Post Malone open up for them so they were able to sell out stadiums.
Oasis today end years of feverish speculation with the confirmation of a long awaited run of UK and Ireland shows forming the domestic leg of their OASIS LIVE '25 world tour. Oasis will hit Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin in the summer of 2025. Their only shows in Europe next year, this will be one of the biggest live moments and hottest tickets of the decade. Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.
Cardiff Principality Stadium 4th / 5th July
Manchester Heaton Park 11th / 12th / 19th / 20th July
London Wembley Stadium 25th / 26th July / 2nd / 3rd August
Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium 8th / 9th August
I didn't think they'd ever want to cloud the UK stuff with north america cashgrab dates at same time. I would think that the overseas dates would be completely sold out before they announce US.
Soldier Field still sounds ambitious if that grid holds up, but I guess it's the first US date and realistically people would fly in. Again, if true, insert obligatory "take my money" gif.
I feel like with limited US cities and big openers they'll be able to fill football stadiums as long as they price it right. There's plenty of gen Xers and millennials with money to spend.
If a reunion happens I can't see any North American shows happening outside of LA/Coachella, NYC and Toronto
They were very open about hating touring the US, even at their peak of getting along
According to this well-regarded Boston arts blog (more an actual revenue-generating media outlet, than somebody posting from their bedroom. They have an actual writing staff.), five North American stadium dates are likely for Sept '25. *Very* northeastern U.S./Great Lakes-friendly, plus an L.A. date.
Given the focus upon July/August for the UK dates, and Sept for the rumored U.S. dates, ACL would seem to be the only festival that would make sense, unless they want to come over before the UK dates, which now seems unlikely, given the back-and-forth involved.
(I don't think that, even with reunion fever, they'll be able to fill NFL stadiums. MLB ballparks would seem to be the better fit here. A look at setlist.fm shows that they had only worked their way up to a handful of U.S. arenas and suburban sheds by 2009.)

Oasis opener will probably be one of Kasabian, Fontaines, Johnny Marr, James, Richard Ashcroft, Kaiser Chiefs
Probably be all of them for different nights. I’m imaging every agent is throwing their bands at their mgmt.
Don't they both have kids who are the right age to be launching their first serious band? Noel and Liam seem like they'd be very apt to put their childrens' bands on the bill, as U2, Sting, RHCP, and others have done in recent years.
does this shift the needle for a smiths reunion even if slightly…
Every big reunion plants that seed in the minds of other estranged bands. You see the money, the press, the adulation, and the chance to write your own legacy, and that's powerful incentive.
I plan on doing my part by buying 20 floor tickets for their Chicago date just to give these boys a little financial boost. Touring North America as a European rock band these days can be such a daunting prospect!
I would have said no but we’ve had Talking Heads hash out their differences and do an interview circuit now Oasis reuniting so who knows now. Never thought any of this was possible 10 years ago.
Especially following a few years of COVID shutting things down and then slowing them down, there's a powerfully strong feeling among a lot of people in their 60's and 70's that if they're ever going to do something one more time or check something off their bucket lists, it's now or never. You can have all the mixed feelings in the world about doing something, but the reality that the clock is ticking weighs heavily in your mind.
I had thought that after the shutdown, we'd see a ton of big reunions in 23-24. It turns out that I was off by a couple of years, and 25 may be the year of the big reunions.
I don't know - it's a bit presumptuous to think all of these gen x dads are just going to throw money away on frivolous nostalgia.
But hold that thought - my buddy just texted me the merch drop info for this week's Pearl Jam Wrigley run and I gotta figure out how many shirts I'm buying.

Yes, The Strokes will open all of the U.S. dates, except for Boston. (Fun fact...Oasis has played eastern Massachusetts more recently than The Strokes.) #OutstandingWarrant

Cant wait til you find an excuse not to go even if you got handed a free ticket.
If those leaked dates (with increasing credibility) hold up it's profoundly strange that they're doing 15 or 16 uk dates and 5 or 6 US ones.
The ratio of US dates seems way too high. An observation not a complaint mind you.
It's a per capita thing. Around 70 million in UK and Ireland vs. 333 million in the US. That's a *much* higher ratio of shows per person in UK/Ireland than in the U.S.
It's also a distance thing. There are some diehards who'll travel across the U.S. for a show, but most people won't. If they were willing to do that, every arena/stadium headliner would just do residencies and wait for the fans to come to them.

Which of us, especially those of us over 60, knows what they're going to be doing a year from now? For this, I'll definitely get a safety net in place, maybe find a hotel within walking distance of the stadium, in case the commuter rail isn't running to and from that show. Maybe hire a livery service. Something like that.
But any of us could happen to get COVID or a heart attack or get hit by a bus around that time. Who knows?
last time Liam Gallagher was in Boston he played a 5000cap venue and tickets were going for like $20 day of. will definitely be a firesale for the Gillette show. may grab a cheap ticket for the spectacle lol
This reunion is getting far more attention in the American press than I expected. NBC News, Washington Post and CNN all have stories about it this morning. This probably will sell well in America and I also can totally see Oasis fans from the UK and Europe making the trek over here the shows.
