Ween | 4/21 | ExploreAsheville.com Arena Justin Towns Earle + The Sadies | 5/9 | The Grey Eagle Mac Demarco | 5/21 | Highland Brewing Future Islands | 6/1 | The Orange Peel
Word. I'm jacked the fuck up for the next maybe 9 weeks. So far on the agenda sort of in time order:
Psymbionic Papadosio ( \hands/) All them Witches Portugal the Man Umphreys McGee Trey Anastasio Band Nas live with Soul Rebels moe. STS9 STS9 Axe the Cables Whadsprayd Panic Blackalicious Jurassic 5 Snoop Dog Joe Russo's Almost Dead New Mastersounds Sigur Ros Muse
Every year almost gets better. We laugh about that shit at home in November every year. Just looking back on the crazy amount of music the family sees together and individually. April is always sick down here. And May usually is pretty good too. I forgot I'm seeing a free Cracker show. Haha, I can scratch them off the list even though i never saw Camper Van Beethoven.
Upcoming is All Them Witches in about 5 hours. They play Mobile tomorrow, so l will let you Mobileans know how the show was. I haven't looked for any recent set lists to know what they are going to play, but the 2 Voodoo sets were so good that I'm sure it will have been worth the 12.00 and then some. I just hope it doesn't sell out since it's at a small 300ish person bar. The bright side is I won't have to drive. Because
I unfortunately had to behave since I drove to Tips last night to see Papadosio. It was the 11th Anniversary of the formation of the band. Show was awesome. Got the greatest hits like Find Your Cloud and In Your Garden as well as some new shit, and finally an encore of a song I fn loved but hadn't heard before. ? Every show is different so I can't pin it down and might have to reach out to them.
Do report back with a review. I missed them when they opened for Kadavar and The Sword and am still kicking myself. There is a day next month where ATW, Detroit Swindle, and Conor Oberst are all playing in Dallas. I like all three acts and may just leave it up to how I'm feeling on that day.

Yeah so it was pretty cool man. It was a strange set as they opened up with Am I Going Up? and just jammed from then on. It was solid as shit with 0% pretense or bullshit. That's one of the reasons I like those guys. I was rapping with the singer/bass player before the show. He said they had a blast at Voodoo. But he also told me that the show last night in Oxford, Miss'sippi was great, except everyone dresses the same. ?
Super garage-y tour in a van with a pull trailer. Haha. These guys are probably the best band in Tennessee.

I saw Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy do two shows back in 2013. It was Carl on Drums and another guy on bass and another on guitar. One night they did Tarkus in its entirety (though instrumental) and I think the other was Pictures at an Exhibition. Both the guitarist (Paul Bielatowicz) and bassist (Simon Fitzpatrick) are who's who. The bass player soloed Kashmir one night and I think Stairway the other night. He played his bass like a stick so you had melodies going with both hands.
With Emerson and Lake deceased, Carl is all that's left.

Anyone have any experience with buying Tool tickets to a sold out show? The gig in Pittsburgh on 06/05 is all gone, and the Stubhub prices are crazy. Since the tix are instant download, anyone have luck buying them closer to the show for decent prices?

Has anyone seen Portugal. the Man on this tour? I haven't even listened to the new album yet if it's out. They are always fun here and usually blasted, but they get a pass because they are here.

Not on this tour, but I have seen them a ton in the past. I have been listening to the new songs they have been releasing, but they always put on such an amazing show I am not even worried.

Yeah. I've seen them 3-4 times, and it's always been fun except the set at Hangout where I was waiting for an incoherent individual to bring me food, drinks and money. Haha. That was hot and packed.

I don't think the new album is out. I'm kinda hesitant to see them this time. The first 3 times I saw them it was amazing, 20-25 songs pulled from all of their albums. But the last 3 times they played 12 songs each time, 90% from Evil Friends. Not that they owe me anything but I'd like a diverse setlist considering their catalogue is so deep and good.
