Oddly here in NYC, Fontaines DC is doing 2x a 2800-capacity theater while Idles is trying to play the Tennis Stadium.
Idles played last night at Boston's Roadrunner (~3500)
I know NYC is significantly bigger, but the tennis stadium feels like a reach
Does Bowery/AEG have an NYC venue that's somewhere between large ballroom and tennis stadium? If it's a mostly/exclusively AEG tour, maybe they went with the most appropriate of their venues for the show.

Radio City Music Hall or Summertsage would probably be the closest but not sure if AEG books either of those.

Radio City is neutral. If Roseland still existed that couldve been a spot.

I was waiting for a cheap second-hand ticket for one of the Fontaines D.C. shows here, then stopped looking when they canceled some shows and assumed they wouldn't be in top shape. But now I'm watching clips of the crowd during those shows and realizing I majorly fucked up by not going. I think much of this run sold out, and the album is still very new, so fingers crossed for another run through, even as an Oasis opener or whatever (Liam bashing them recently is the best possibly press for that).
Couldn't think of a more uninspired and illogical opener than Cage the Elephant. Big woof.
I dont see how it’s illogical. There aren’t many newer big US rock bands. I’m not happy w it but it makes perfect sense.
Dont need Cage. We need something from the Uk. Like them opening doesnt give that much incentive to get a ticket anyway. Its gonna look stupider when the Uk dates will have 3 openers for the same price
And no Dynamic Pricing. I expect tickets to cost more though

something from the UK wouldn't make sense because they've struggled in the US in the past so getting a band that sells tix here makes much more sense. Cage does a lot more for fans here than like Kasabian, Blossoms, Manic Street Preachers, etc.
