I spend an awful amount of money at Bonnaroo. VIP, RV, buying food beer etc. Year after year. If a show (STS9) ends at 7am, the beer tent near is open, the food near it is open so why is the empty tent, an empty fuckin tent off limits to anyone with a VIP bracelet on? This is not a golf club. If you are early to bed and early to rise and you dont like patrons laying around the comfortable and cozy VIP lounge, time to rethink exactly what ROO is. Split the tent into two tents. A tent for those who like late night, like to mingle in the wee hours with fellows of the same mind. It would be far quieter for the local tenters, not to hear the conversation of those forced to sit outside. And one tent for the octogenarians. There is no quackin reason for a VIP lounge- an expensive investment to be closed at any time, at any time during a 24 hour event. I can hear the opposing arguement; "I spend good money too, I want to enjoy my coffee without all the snoring, I need a place to sit etc etc" ITS BONNAROO! Total bullhonkey.
we've put in complaints about this.. they kicked us out 2 nights. there was some real hard ass in there one night making everyone leave. plus they stopped people from bringing int he plastic lounge chairs that no one was sittign in outside

Both the VIP A/C lounges were closed at various times.
The ones in Centeroo closed at 3AM I think.
The one in VIP camping closed at various times of the morning for "cleaning". Not sure why they couldn't just clean half of it at a time and ask people to move around.
My wife got kicked out around 9AM one morning while trying to charge her cell phone. I can almost (but not quite) understand them asking the overnight sleepers to move on as there wouldn't be enough room in the tent for everyone to do that. I personally don't care but that almost makes sense. But to kick out someone who's using the lounge for its' intended purpose is ridic.
We were out partying late Saturday night and they told us nobody was allowed into the VIP tent (outside Centeroo, in the VIP camping area) until 8 am (this was probably 5 or 6 am). There were workers at the door enforcing it. When I asked why somebody said 'so a million people don't sleep in there'. So we dropped in on Sunday during the day and what were they doing? Sleeping. It's okay to do that during the day but not at night? Total asshattery.
ETA: We didn't want to sleep, of course. I think the wife wanted to look at her fb or something. Either way we paid the same amount of money the early-to-bed set did and we should have access to the same amenities.

We were kicked out Saturday morning around 9 a.m. for the stated purpose of cleaning, but it felt more like we were kicked out for being asleep. I found that strange because just a few hours later I popped back in again and there were a ton of people asleep, even on the floor. I'm not complaining, but when people are up most of the night at a festival, they're going to fall asleep when they sit down or lie down in an air-conditioned lounge. It's hard to avoid. Having written that, I loved this year's lounge, particularly the ping pong. (Note: I thankfully did not fall asleep while playing ping pong in the air conditioning

when ppl are almost having heat strokes and its 100 plus no one should be getting kicked out of places with AC when we quacking paid for it. me and my fiance complained to the hospitality ppl but that got us no where. i felt like i was in high school again. 'oh no, you can't put your chair there. you can only use there chairs' blah blah well then ppl shouldn't have their feet up taking up 2 chairs b/c then there is no where to sit BAH i was so pisssed and hottttt next year there needs to be more provided chairs INSIDE the AC tents. Not out in the heat DUH ... this was my only complaint about VIP.
It was a PITA to arrive at 9am with my breakfast and not have a single place to sit because the entire place is covered with people passed out. That being said, it shouldn't ever be closed because Bonnaroo is pretty much a 24 hour event.
I heard someone being told no about the Adirondack chairs because the space has a limit to how many people and that is based upon the furnishings already in there. Add more furniture, less people can legally be in there and they can't expect the security to do the calculations.
And really, there were people there with air mattresses and their entire camp in there passed out, there didn't seem to be much consistency with the security.
At a minimum, the tent & bathrooms behind Which stage should be open as long as there is a band playing, if not 24x7. It closed at 1:00, long before SCI finished.
The bank of covered portos near there were just about the nastiest thing I have ever seen. Somebody said it looked like poop was used as finger paint in one of them. Sooo gross.

Friday night around 3am I tried to approach a bank of portos after finding out that the Which VIP bathrooms were closed; I gagged before I even got to the entrance. I hiked it back to VIP so I could use a bathroom without being sick.

Running out to VIP to use our bathrooms and then back into Centeroo took about 15 minutes where as waiting in a porto line could take over a half hour and be incredibly disgusting. We figured that out on Thursday and it made the whole weekend very enjoyable.

Just based on this post alone.....I'd say that you were kicked out for cleaning purposes.
Some attendees like to call us snobs for preferring to use clean facilities, but honestly: if we paid the same amount of $$$ for a 5-day hotel stay, wouldn't we expect clean toilets, hot showers, and a vending area or lounge to be open 24/7?
That was my only major gripe about VIP. I mean, seriously... it's not like anybody was watching porn on the laptops or having kinky orgies in there - what's the problem? We're just night owls looking for a place to perch temporarily...

I felt sorry for the ladies working the door who had to deal with all of the p-o'ed people. We sat in the chairs under the big sunsails by the tent from 6am-8am watching a whole bunch of people show their a$$es.
But seriously, why close a tent with no doors and guys there to watch it all night? Maybe they were used just to guard the beers in the cooler of the drink stand inside.
My wife went there after the tent closed one night to use the bathroom and the guy guarding the tent told her 'There is grass you can use around back'. He was being serious too. I know Bonnaroo has always turned a blind eye to relieving oneself al fresco after dark but I didn't know they actually encouraged it. Ha!
I brought the outside plastic chairs inside the tent several times with no problem. Another trick I have used is to really up the twang of my already Southern accent when talking to the Bonnaroo workers. They figure I am local I guess and I get away with a lot of sh-t. My wife should have tried that too.
