Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Apparently, Dan (aka spaceman spliff) got into the "pit" for Florence and the Machine. He said it wasn't strictly VIP (guest and TA, but would let VIP in). Not the ideal place to watch since it's on the side, but when trying to get to where you can hear a tent show that's overly packed like a lot of the tent shows early in the weekend, it would be better than where I ended up for Matt and Kim.
I tried for the "pit" area for Dr. John but the security dude told me it was for people with "That" guest and artist passes. Apparently they b!tched about the lack of special viewing areas for themselves so Bonnaroo made them a little area RIGHT AT THE FRONT. No offense, but as if they don't get other perks, they have to take space from regular Roo goers? Not cool.

Don't forget about TA it's true though, the That Pass people DID probably complain! On Thursday when we were briefed on what we had, we were told that we could be backstage on the tents and for sure up on the sidestage platforms on the what. They even briefed us on the rules.
I think they way over issued the guest/artist "That Pass".... VIP area I went to was packed with them, except for our TA only bar at the what and the regular VIP lounge behind the which. that lounge was dope though! loved the massage chair, and nice bathrooms when cruising around those parts were clutch.
'And then we ended up camping next to/with Amy Grant and her step kids. They are super great folks, but you sure as heck wouldn't find Amy Grant cooking breakfast burritos in GA'
If I camped next to Amy Grant, at Bonnaroo of all places, I would be too embarrassed to admit it.
My grandmother however would love it. She has always hated that devil rock n roll music. She would love VIP too.
Yuppie Hill Dwellers is a perfect description for VIP. I will start using that.
You're a DB. Not everyone wants the same exact Roo experience and that is exactly WHY I love this festival.
Can't say I listen to Amy Grant, and gotta admit I didn't even figure out who the heck she was until Saturday afternoon. We didn't choose our neighbors but they were great people though very different from us - they did their own thing, were polite, shared, friendly, and totally had the Roo vibe... though I guess it's not as cool of a vibe as YOU must have. Sorry I didn't realize everyone has to have the same exact experience at Bonnaroo and everyone else is lame.

I probably couldn't afford to go VIP on my own - I just got lucky bc I have the best best friend in the world (thanks Popsicle Sarah)....but the showers, bathrooms, no lines into Centeroo, and the hill are worth the price IMO. The only thing that pissed me off was I got kicked out of the VIP lounge on Saturday morning for lying down with my feet propped on a chair. I was told I wasn't allowed to lay down and sleep....and then the entire rest of the weekend I heard and saw all kinds of people sleeping away in there and even bringing in air mattresses and pillows. WTF?
The other thing that sucks is the VIP bathrooms in Centeroo closing at 1am. The middle of the night is the absolute worst time to have to use the portos. If we are paying for bathrooms they ought to be available 24/7.
It was nice having no wooks and no theft in the campsite. The people on the hill during the shows were also more polite and respectful. I didn't miss getting beer spilled all over me, getting run into, and stepped on. There was a point when I was honestly scared walking through the crowd after Girl Talk. That crowd seemed violent and out of control.

And Id like to meet your grandma and let her know her grandson is quite the arrogant jerkstore. Im sure she'd be proud
Sorry if I am being a DB for calling you out ladies but the hit dog hollers every time. I am sure Amy Grant is a lovely person. I also bet that she too is absolutely scared to death of Portos and Wooks but is the first to brag back home that she 'has been to Bonnaroo'.
I have way more respect for the tens of thousands of ladies who may be standing ankle deep in shat but their credibility's are intact. They have nothing to feel defensive about. They are Bonnaroo.
and so you know Ive been 5 times GA. Ive paid my "dues". I dont go VIP because Im afraid of wooks and porta-johns. I go because I worked my ass off all year to enjoy Roo how I want. Who is this DB? please come to brunch next year so I can kick you in the balls

Definitely!!!! I don't think I would go back to GA in fact, I don't think I would have felt like going back to Roo at all if it weren't for VIP.
It was way hotter than I have ever faced before at Roo and this really broke me down over the course of the weekend causing me to fight off bouts of anger. Air conditioned pavilions made me push through this. We were inside Centeroo in less than 15 minutes every time, sometimes as little as 5 if we went to the What stage/Hill entry, the value of this is we forgot something or wanted another drink was invaluable. No wait in traffic getting in or out, showereing 3 times a day to wash off the dust, open my sinuses and clear them of dust, to wake myself up, to cool off, was again invaluable. Plus, the dinner on Thursday was filling and not half bad and the ample amounts of micro brew that night also didn't hurt.
My 2010 experience in GA was terrible and some friends this year, though they enjoyed the fest, suffered many of the same problems as well as the heat this year worse than we did which just drove the point home.

I'm not scared of portos or wooks. I'm just saying if given the choice between the VIP bathrooms and portos, I am going to pick the VIP bathrooms. I totally agree on her statement that Bonnaroo is a different experience for everyone. I don't feel that because I prefer to have a toilet that flushes over a porto makes me any less part of what bonnaroo is about.

for knowing the real heart of roo, I award you this merit badge:
newsflash: more often than not, people in vip wind up there after not enjoying the GA experience.

Yes, VIP is 100% worth it.
For those of you who don't like the vibe I suggest you find better friends. The vibe around our campsite was absolutely awesome and I had an incredible time this year and will be the first one buying VIP tickets for next year!
Thanks to all the VIP Inforoosters for an awesome Bonnaroo!
See you all again as soon as possible (Lollapalooza anyone?)

I took the bonnabus out of Bonnaroo the pick up location was inside VIP - I used their bathrooms and all I could think was that the A/C and flush would make a world of difference. Next year: VIP!!!!!!!!!
Went in 09 and 10 as VIP, missed this year. You know what makes VIP worth it? Not waiting. Not waiting to get into Centeroo, not waiting to park and set up camp, not waiting to take a shower or use a bathroom. Not waiting to get back to your campsite because you left something behind. Not waiting at the Fuse Barn to recharge your phone.
You get stuff done fast. So you can enjoy the music a lot more.

This is why I am wrestling between GA and renting an RV or VIP. The past two years my walks to Centeroo have been over 30 minutes long. It's a chore to get back to camp and relax. I honestly could care less about the bathrooms, I am thinking time.
I have done GA three times before, and once while pregnant so I think I have "GA street cred" or whatever you think is necessarily to REALLY experience Bonnaroo. :
VIP is worth it to see more shows. I could spend all day away from my camp and not be lacking for anything. I didn't need all my wipes & TP to survive the porta-potties, I didn't need to carry any misters or fans or anything to stay cool. I never almost passed out like I did in the past, trying to stay cool in the shade of porta-potties or wedged into the single tent near What Stage or in some stranger's campsite on the way back to my tent. I had the energy to be able to do late night or a long day in the sun (and both!) because I wasn't trekking to and from Centeroo in the heat.
I'd do it again; last night my husband and I discussed how next year if we did VIP again how we could make it even better.

Uh, I did GA for five years. I got lucky to get a VIP ticket this year, and I don't see how appreciating the lack of shit-graffitied portos, getting robbed, and constant beer showers from drunken bros takes away from one's 'credibility'. I'll do several other festivals GA this year, where I'll be camping along side wooks and using third-world style shitters, and I'll enjoy those too.

VIP was worth every penny. I never once waited for ANYTHING! Not to get in , a beer, a bathroom, a seat. Nothing. Our neighbors were just as friendly and party favors galore.
Even if you have tried it and hated it, why would you find it necessary to knock on someone who is answering the question asked. It would have been fine for you to just say no, and move along. Not personally attack someone else's opinion. If we are discussing what is and is not Bonnaroo... GA VIP or TA being an asshole just to be one....is NOT Bonnaroo. I have nothing to feel defensive about because I don't go to Roo to prove I am tougher than anyone. Nor am I impressed by people who feel the need to convince me that they are. As a matter of fact those ways of thinking are exactly the kinds of things I go to Roo to escape from in my day to day. Sorry us enjoying ourselves ruined your vibe bruh....
VIP was totally worth it to me, but then I always thought it would be - I just needed to convince my Roo Crew to go along with me!
But it was especially worth it after I damaged my big toe Thursday setting up camp. Having somewhere to sit where I knew no one would step on my toe at What and Which really made a difference and helped me enjoy those shows.
I also loved our neighbors and thought they were a lot friendlier than anyone I ever camped next to in GA. Actually, everyone I encountered in VIP was really friendly. Friendlier than many I encountered outside of the VIP areas this year and my 3 other years.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It is my opinion that people shouldn't generalize a whole group for what level of camping they choose at a fest. Are we still in elementary school? Enjoy yourself and let others enjoy themselves without scrutiny or judgment. I don't take offense to anything elrooster says because what is being said does not pertain to me. While it is true that some parts of my life resemble white bread America, the majority do not. I already live in the hood in a house that I can't sell while my shit gets stolen and my windows get shot out. I don't want to do it on vacation too. So good for you if you want to finger paint with poo for four days. The only ones who are "hardcore" are the ones who do it with a big smile on their face and don't condemn another for not being just like them.
Ha! I will wear that A-sshole Merit Badge with honor coming from your type.
I guess everyone does have a place at Bonnaroo. Even yuppies from Whitebread-ville.
No Wooks, no Portos, and the only minorities you will see are there to clean your sh-tters. Just like you have it back home. Go VIP!
What is my type?
If yuppie, you mean a self made individual with money to spend on an awesome party, then you got me. I didn't realize that it was a race to the bottom to see who endured more to really "get" bonnaroo. have fun with that race, i hope you win.
