I have a friend who won a contest at Bonnaroo last year. The prize was two VIP tickets to Bonnaroo 2011. He was told they would have them mailed to him around the same time as the rest of the "tickets" went out this year, but he has yet to receive them.
He always does the Clean Vibes clean-up as his entry in to Bonnaroo, so he said my girlfriend and I could have his VIP tickets.
Upon closer inspection of his prize according to the contest rules, I read that the tickets are "non-transferable".
Has anyone had any experience with a situation like this? Can we just re-register the wristbands under our names and be done with it? Or should we expect that Bonnaroo has taken measures to ensure that ONLY my friend would be able to use the wristbands?
My hunch is that Bonnaroo would not have any real way to prevent transferring of the tickets, but I do not want to be proven wrong at the gates on Thursday morning entry.
