My previous VIP experience neccesitated a Sunday afternoon departure, as did my first GA trip; both times I exited out Bushy Branch and had to drive through the hordes. Does VIP have a VIP exit on Sunday night and Monday a.m.? Or do they shut down the VIP entry at noon on Sunday?
I will be taking off early Sunday evening. We usually do this every year. The year I left from VIP in 07 we went out the way we came. But leaving from GA and Driving through the masses was the suck.
08 and 09 were nightmares, but 2010 they righted the wrong. Apparently what had happened is that the VIP entrance is only allowed as an exit until a certain time on Monday morning -- last year they pushed that time back a little (I think).
Would love a definitive answer from the Bonnaroo Powers That Be - - we've got a late flight out of Chattanooga, and a wooky drive and New Bushy Branch exit would add at least an hour.
The best answer from the company Gary Chardonnay - Official Bonnaroo Staff, Official Rep, replied 22 days ago Sorry about any problems you had exiting VIP in the past, but shouldn’t be any issues this year. Vehicles will be able to leave the site from the point of where you entered on Sunday evening. VIPs will be given as much priority as possible, but there may be short intermittent closures of this exit due to Production vehicles exiting the site.
^ No, the shows continue through the Sunday evening headliner. But some folks have to work on Monday, thus the Sunday departures. The traffic can be really bad on Sunday nite - in fact, in '08 it took me 2.5hrs just to get from GA to the highway. Last year, I left late Monday morning & it was a breeze.
